First time I've heard Wikipedia / Wikimania movement mention 7,000 languages, each of which WUaS is planning wiki schools in for open teaching and learning (and as academic markets as well).

Hi M,

Found moving this video sung by Scots' musician Claire Hastings, and said so here -
https://twitter.com/scottmacleod/status/906574035277955072 ... which video you'll also find here ...

I'm glad she re-posted this same positive Tweet of mine here -

https://twitter.com/TheOpenBand/status/906212019363184640 - at the top of her Twitter profile - https://twitter.com/ClaireHastings1 ... (http://www.clairehastings.com/biography/).

She/they seems to add a folk rock rhythm, and sensibility, to a traditional Scots' tune, and does it well, having learned something in the process. Claire won the young Young Scots' Trad Musician of the Year recently (Read more at: http://www.berwickshirenews.co.uk/whats-on/music/preview-claire-hastings-1-4036347), and has a degree in music from the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow, which has a focus on traditional music among many.

I'd like to develop the Monday night Scottish country dance music we play in new ways, and come (with composing software) into conversation in new ways with the folk rock music of Steeleye Span, Pentangle and Fairport Convention from the 1970s, for example, so Claire's endeavor is a kind of stepping stone.

Bed room is clean (deep in my Yogi's cave of lotus house-let:), allergens are gone from bedclothes, front room needs cleaning next ...

Time to explore further hiking ...

Heard from Harbin founder, Robert Hartley yesterday ... he had been to Cuttyhunk and nearby watery locales (his father had a boat in Padanaram), maybe in late 50s, may be able to sell by Harbin book in a gate kiosk there when it opens again in early 2018

What are you up to today? How are you? May head to Stanford soon-ish.

L,
Scott

Hi, M,

A taiver is a shredded tatter :) by the way (of Scandanavian origins) ... possibly a rambler (from ... "To roam about aimlessly or idly") too ... or a ragamuffin? ... were probably a bunch of these 200 years ago in Scotland :)

Happy etymological Sunday morning (here),
Scott

World University and School might begin an online Musical Mac Flower open mic venue in Google group video Hangouts ...

and re these wiki subjects for open teaching and learning ...

http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Folklore_-_Ethnology

http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Folk_rock_music

http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Ethnomusicology

http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Scotland World University and School plus many more countries ...

Greetings from the SF Bay Area / near Berkeley & Stanford.

Would you be interested in beginning this - as the first and maiden performance? :) You would indeed be an innovator here although until Hangouts get to real, real time - so musicians can play together (from different parts of the world even) - this would probably have to be solo!

Musical cheers,
Scott
