Hi Mark, and Remy, and Marlene (and Linda from the American Friends Service Committee, who was part of the email communication below in 2016),
I'm writing to say hello, and that while World University and School, and the WUaS Press don't have any money whatsoever to speak of (so WUaS cannot attend this event), WUaS is planning free best STEM CC-4 MIT OCW-centric online education and degrees in Spanish, and in all of the Spanish speaking countries out of ~@200 nation states (in the Olympics) - including Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school degrees.
Mark, I met with Remy in his Stanford office in April 2016 - who was director of Stanford's LBAN at the time - and I'm including our correspondence below as well in these regards.
The WUaS Corp is seeking to create online entrepreneurial opportunities in Spanish, in all of the Spanish speaking countries around these 10 out of 14 planned revenue streams - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2016/01/14-planned-wuas-revenue-streams.html.
At a key moment in coding World University and School in our new wiki for learners / matriculating students / end users - e.g. https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Mexico - we'd like to build into WUaS entrepreneurial opportunities for the Spanish-speaking community, and our Spanish speaking students. Spanish is one of our 3 pilot languages (along with English and Chinese).
Here for example is the beginning of Spain World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Spain - planned in Spanish. And here's MIT OCW in Spanish - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Spanish_language.
I enjoyed Stanford's recent LBAN conference around Feb 7 2018 (https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/events/2018-state-latino-entrepreneurship-forum and https://events.stanford.edu/events/744/74427/) a few months ago, which I attended in person. And I met/enjoyed Marlene's presentation at this gathering too - https://sociology.stanford.edu/people/marlene-orozco - https://twitter.com/orozconchicken?lang=en.
I'm posting below some of the Tweets I retweeted and posted at the time as well:

I've also just retweeted these here - https://twitter.com/WUaSPress?lang=en - and here - https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch?lang=en.
WUaS Co is a far-reaching online entrepreneurial opportunity for Spanish speakers - and WUaS seeks to become the Stanford / Harvard of the Internet (in all ~200 countries' official main languages, and as wiki schools for open teaching and learning in all 7,097 living languages).
Looking forward to keeping in touch.
Sincerely,
Scott

Hi Remy, Linda (and Tiq),
It was great to meet with you yesterday for more than an hour in Palo Alto re Stanford's entrepreneurial LBAN and its focus on improving Latino businesses in the US, and thanks for talking so much re Spanish language World University and School, the new and old of which you'll find here - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/WUaS_En_Wiki/index.php?title=Nation_States (and not yet in Spanish, although some MIT OCW courses are) - and much more. I appreciate Stanford's excellence and California laid backness a lot.
I'm writing to introduce you both to one another. Remy is dynamic and the Executive Director of Stanford's LBAN - https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/faculty-research/centers-initiatives/ces/research/slei and http://latinoei.org/about-us/ - and Linda is a head of 67 Sueños - http://www.67suenos.org/ and https://twitter.com/67Suenos - with offices at AFSC in SF, (where WUaS also holds a twice a week hive meeting space above the Quaker Meetingspace). Linda finished at UC Berkeley relatively recently, and speaks Zapotec (her first language I think) - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Zapotec_languages - Spanish, and English. Linda is a very smart and skillful manager.
Remy, do you ever attend these Stanford Center for Latin America talks - http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=a740ba999e1dd83e0e560ced4&id=5101e6fb12&e=94f78f5eea ? I've attended some and they're great, and good for networking as well. I don't think Linda has attended one of these yet.
You might both have very much to collaborate or talk about.
Here's a recent blog post of mine about 67 Sueños event - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2016/03/egg-67-suenos-migrant-justice-showcase.html - which I attended in Oakland, and which Linda organized I think, which was great. Still haven't seen any pictures of you from this event, Linda! :)
Remy and Linda, perhaps as WUaS begins to move into WUaS MediaWiki, we can talk further about developing the WUaS Bookstore in the Spanish language as well as in Zapotec - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Zapotec_languages - see this for planning purposes - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Bookstore_/_Computer_Store_(New_%26_Used)_at_WUaS - probably in Quickbooks Multistore to begin. WUaS seeks to become a major online employer and in all 7097+ languages and as a way to develop both markets, opportunities, as well as linguistic growth and developments in all languages (and re free CC accrediting degrees in nation states' where Spanish is the official language).
Best regards,
Scott

Scott, thank you very much for the introduction. It was a real pleasure speaking with you.
Hi Linda, Scott’s description of your efforts with 67 sueños really impressed me. What a great organization. I would love to sit down with you sometime either here or at your location.

[Wikimedia Announcements] News from Côte d'Ivoire's User Group
Dear Kangah,
Sharing with you off list this Côte d'Ivoire online University at World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/C%C3%B4te_d%27Ivoire (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States) - which is not yet in French or the other languages of Côte d'Ivoire (as wiki schools for open teaching and learning). World Univ & Sch is like Wikipedia/Wikidata in its 298 languages with CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare in its 5 languages, and plans to offer online free CC-4 OCW-centric university and high school degrees - Bachelor, Ph.D., law, M.D. and I.B. high school - in all ~200 countries' official languages. (WUaS donated itself to Wikidata for co-development in 2015, and got this new WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki in 2017 as a consequence).

UC Berkeley TSWG - CULTIVATING AUTHENTICITY IN THE BELLY OF PARIS
Mark, (Nelson and Dean),
Am curious how your drawings might become animated in an upcoming realistic virtual earth to which we could all add our art, our STEM and our ethnography, for example. Visit the Harbin gate here in Street View, for example ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ where I added a photo of the Harbin gate from 2001, to see what I have in mind. You can "walk" down the road 4 miles to Middletown and begin to "amble" around the streets there too in this. Might we be able to walk through some of the passageways in your drawings eventually in Street View, for example, and "detour" to Paris virtually in these regards newly?
Here's the animated John Muir image from a photo I was talking about in my question - https://twitter.com/ UCBerkeley/status/ 969666938338267136 - at about the 1:30 minute mark here in the video - https://youtu.be/I2iZSAsy9cU - where John Muir's head appears to be animated and move backward.
Am curious too about drawing on an iPad in the Harbin Hot Springs' pool area ... and re your drawing from post cards. (Harbin is my actual-virtual ethnographic field site, about which I've written two books so far, and is a long term project). In what ways could software emerge related to this, especially re open (potentially Creative Commons' CC-0 licensing - sharable, yet commercially; CC-4 MIT OCW allows for sharing, adapting yet is non-commercial, by way of comparison) licensing questions.
Thanks again for your great talk and presentation.
Regards,
Scott

Peter and Georgy,
With the space mission to Mars planned for 2030s, can we - re World University and School - co-map the universe along this trajectory, with NASA, at the cellular and atomic levels, in something like Google Street View with TIME SLIDER / Maps / Earth / Brain ... and travel along on this voyage virtually, as well?
