Dear Aldis and Vincent,

Thanks for your great Stanford talks ... "eWEAR Seminar: Immersive Experiences"  - http://events.stanford.edu/events/784/78431/ ... on Thursday, May 31. I blogged a bit about this here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/06/mimic-octopus-new-machine-learning-wiki.htm.

Some further broad related questions:
In general, I'm curious how best to lay out a road map to go from the Virtual Reality theorizing of Packer and Jordan in their book "Multimedia" (2001) -  e.g. see https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2010/05/nudibranch-to-conceptualize-virtual.html - to a realistic virtual earth for everything, e.g. for actual-virtual tele-robotic brain surgery at the atomic level to actual/real "pop guns" with direct correspondence to virtual "pop guns" in a realistic virtual earth at the cellular and atomic levels, too (i.e. for physics modeling and experimentation re velocity etc). By way of comparison, and with the Hadron collider, could we, for example, do the same science in a realistic virtual earth as with this real collider itself in Switzerland?

And similarly how best to create a realistic virtual universe / galaxy and at the cellular and atomic levels too? Two further Stanford contacts in this vein you might be interested in connecting with further are the astrophysicists at Stanford's SLAC = Tom Abel and Ralf Kaehler. They are both focusing on related questions re modeling the universe +. Here's a recent related blog post - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/05/red-cheeked-cordon-bleu-this-harbinbook.html - which mentions both Tom and Ralf, whom I know a bit. (They're great and could be excellent collaborators in this too).

In building out such a realistic virtual earth / universe / Harbin Hot Springs (my ethnographic field site, and for a new STEM / social science method I'm calling ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy) - planned with realistic avatar bots and in all 7097 living languages - how can we all best to develop this realistic virtual Harbin+ for STEM research and modeling, and ethnography, is something I'm asking myself ... and perhaps beginning with a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs' warm pool (e.g. for brain science from one's bath tub - i.e. re the "relaxation response" / studying meditation scientifically), - and for brain research with brain wave headsets (and drawing on and building further CC-4 MIT OCW's Brain and Cognitive Sciences' resources too - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/brain-and-cognitive-sciences/) for example, and while meditating in the Harbin warm pool. What is the joy of meditation at the cellular/neural and atomic levels, for example - and uniquely at Harbin, both actually and virtually?

And re your work on visual salience, Vincent, how to extend this concept, coding and scientific research in new ways in a realistic virtual Harbin / earth / universe / galaxy?

As another example, could we early on develop a nano-fabrication laboratory with direct correspondence to the MIT Nano lab currently being build - https://twitter.com/MIT/status/1002596916218224641 - but re and in a realistic virtual universe? And since you're moving to Boston, Aldis, perhaps you could focus this in your unique remarkable ways.

And even for nano robotics - as well as for street view human-scale robotics (e.g. for learning at home at WUaS, with e.g. Lego WeDo 2.0 Robotics and Mindstorms EV3) ... & brain robotics -Making human robot brains (out of silicon?)

Looking forward to staying in touch about a realistic virtual earth at the Street View, cellular and atomic levels, where both potential blockchain ledger chips, and agriculture with drones and flying cars (e.g. for air traffic control) could emerge. I'm thinking here, conceptually, of Google Street View with TIME SLIDER / Maps / Earth / Brain / Tensor Flow / Translate +.

Thanks again for your fascinating and inspiring presentations. Aldis, the Baltic states' talk I went to at Stanford the day after yours was interesting. Aldis and Vincent, let's stay in touch as well about Europe World University and School https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Europe - and for online free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric degrees - Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. - in each countries' official and main languages.

Best regards,
Scott

P.S.
In a related vein, I'm including below an email I sent to Steven Pu, whom I met in a Stanford talk, and who has a few Stanford degrees too, and speaks Chinese; (see, too, these great Stanford friends - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/05/neemtree-stanford-asia-1st-annual-us.html).

Thanks again for your excellent thoughts and insights about the blockchain ledger and IoT at the 1st Annual US-ATMC Industrial Affiliate Program Conference - Panel on Blockchain - http://events.stanford.edu/events/778/77803/. And nice to meet you again.

Let's stay in touch about a pan-Asian cryptocurrency (think Euro) with blockchain ledger into a potential universal cryptocurrency with blockchain backed by ~200 nation states' central banks, and relating to the IoT, and even for all 7.5 billion people e.g. https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/05/prunus-mume-stanford-asia.html (and for health care data too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/03/aptenia-cordifolia-great-ibm-cognitive.html) ...

perhaps taught about in World University and School law schools.

And let's stay in touch in touch too about World University and School Law Schools themselves e.g. -

and

Law Schools at World University and School (planned in main languages in them)

And let's stay in touch too about a realistic virtual earth at the Street View, cellular and atomic levels, where both blockchain chips, and agriculture with drones and flying cars could emerge. I'm thinking here, conceptually, of Google Street View with TIME SLIDER / Maps / Earth / Brain / Tensor Flow / Translate +.

I was glad to learn that the Stanford Law China Guiding Cases Project was co-founded by Tony Lai - glad you connected today as well.

Looking forward to hearing and meeting you again.

Best, regards, Scott
