Dylan,

Thanks for your fascinating panel presentation today: "Trust, Transparency & Technology Panel Series: Trust and Transparency in Personalized Algorithms" - http://events.stanford.edu/events/785/78581/ .

More about Tega, the MIT Media Lab learning robot, here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/05/plantae-where-is-tega-learning-robot.html?m=0 - which seems very germane to your work with personalizing algorithms in a learning environment.

Conceptually, your work would fit in to CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric World University and School here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - for developing personal learning algorithms for matriculated university students (and eventually high school students) - and so much more, and at a key moment of coding our fairly new WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki "front end" (eg above) newly together with our Wikidata/Wikibase "back end" - and also in conjunction with Google Education and the Goggle ecosystem.

While WUaS seeks to develop MIT OCW courses for credit, conceptually, in Google Hangouts / Translate / TensorFlow (and more), how best to develop personalized learning algorithms out of this constellation of software - and with a focus on online conversation as learning (e.g. re https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Conference_Method_of_Teaching_and_Learning)>

How best to communicate further about some possibilities here? Thank you again, and very nice to meet you.

Best regards, Scott

Dylan,

As a follow up, here are a few further related wiki subjects per your LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dylanarena/) interests - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Assessment_and_Grading_at_WUaS_as_Part_of_Conversation_in_Learning and https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Gaming_-_Digital - each of which will develop in many languages, and as wiki and with courses for credit for free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OCW degrees; WUaS is seeking to offer online CC-4 MIT OCW-centric Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, MD and I.B. high school degrees. (But MIT doesn't have a Law or  Medical School, so WUaS is seeking to emerge from Stanford Law and Medicine for this with CC OCW in these fields).

WUaS is also seeking to create major online universities in each of all ~200 countries' official main languages - and wiki schools for open teaching and learning in all 7,097 living languages. All of this would create many academic markets - with related incentives.

Perhaps your team members - http://kidaptive.com/our-team/ - speak some non-English languages and might be interested in WUaS for degrees and wiki schools for people that speak their mother tongues and in the countries they come from.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott,

It was nice to meet you yesterday.  Although you've got an impressive vision for World University and School, the effort is still too early for it to be feasible for us to collaborate.  (As a small startup, we need to focus on partnerships with organizations that have relatively large user bases and can afford our SaaS fees.)  I'd be happy to reconnect when you reach that point!

Best of luck,
Dylan

Hi Dylan,

Thanks for your email, and nice to meet you as well.

Am curious how programming Tega's algorithms (MIT's learning robot - http://robotic.media.mit.edu/portfolio/tega/& https://www.media.mit.edu/projects/tega-a-new-robot-platform-for-long-term-interaction/overview/& https://www.media.mit.edu/articles/the-new-robot-in-school/) and re personalized learning algorithms would grow in an algorithmic conversation paradigm - https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1004467152689090560 - in Android.

As we grow our matriculated student base, this may become a multi-lingual research project at World University and School in the future, and in an actual < > virtual earth, since WUaS seeks to grow out of both MIT and Stanford - and re graduate student instructors (https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search?q=Actual+%3C+%3E+Virtual).

Would Jin Joo Lee (https://twitter.com/jinxjly?lang=en), Tega's developer, be a possible interesting collaborator for you, and re your Korean team member? Or current MIT graduate student Jacqueline Kory - https://twitter.com/jacquelinekory?lang=en - who's working with Tega presently?

Best, Scott
