hippie | ˈhipē | (also hippy)
noun
(especially in the 1960s) a person of unconventional appearance, typically having long hair, associated with a subculture involving a rejection of conventional values and the taking of hallucinogenic drugs. (Apple dictionary)

A hippie is a member of the counterculture of the 1960s, originally a youth movement that began in the United States during the mid-1960s and spread to other countries around the world. The word hippie came from hipster and was used to describe beatniks who moved into New York City's Greenwich Village and San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district.

Re recent 19 Oct '19 party invitation I sent out, am glad to have heard back from Deirdre, a MD-managing director at Harbin Hot Springs, re my actual-virtual Harbin ethnography.

Here's my blog post with her email from 10/5/19 -

Camellia japonica: Your call from Harbin Hot Springs, Deirdre * * * If only Harbin had a Paris Book Stall on wheels - then Harbin could start to earn money on the books it sells right now * * * My "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book which lists at $64.95 would bring in $25.98 to Harbin for each copy sold.* * * Planning to publish my 4th partly Harbin-inspired book this autumn as well, price not yet determined: "To the Dance or the Pools? ~ Virtually!: How different it is to soak at Harbin, than to realize it in virtual reality" * * * WUaS may seek to develop a fleet of bookstores on wheels, or bookstores in a van ... :) ... for the WUaS Press and the WUaS Corporation in particular, Costs to bring down in such vans ... besides fuel? How much revenue could such vans generate in other ways - in addition to book sales?

http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/10/camellia-japonica-your-call-from-harbin.html?m=0 - and more. See 10/4/19's blog post for her letter and much more.

This could potentially lead to beginning to sell my ... "Naked Harbin Ethnography: Hippies, Warm Pools, Counterculture, Clothing-Optionality & Virtual Harbin" ... at Harbin Hot Springs itself ...

and perhaps lead to heading up to Harbin again for ethnographic fieldwork to further develop my Harbin project, including teaching a course about Harbin and ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy 'in the field' - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy?m=0 - and with regard to creating a Realistic Virtual Harbin as well.

Cheers, Scott

Hi Ma,

Piped a little before bed yesterday evening. Lesson on Wednesday with Finlay - and seeking to focus this query-wise possibly with

A) 'Honey in the Bag' upcoming Scottish small piping album tune questions,

B) D and B flat chanters-wise questions, and drone tuning-wise, esp. new B flat chanter  - and re album too,

C) Combo E-D drone and CoP Blue Book Vol 3 - and which tunes therein work with A chanter with A-E-A drone chord AND D chanter and D-A-D drone chord ? ... maybe with recordings before Wednesday (but not B flat chanter with Combo drone yet)

D)
i) why are Yo Yo Ma's Bach cello suites
so beautiful,

but virtuosic Pablo Casals playing of same pieces
less beautiful; And

ii) why are Hopkinson Smith's Bach lute pieces
(https://youtu.be/pTBooio3h9U) so beautiful, and what can I learn and adapt for SSP album?

E) previous questions from emails

May head to the Pacific ocean north of Stinson beach to explore today ...

Glad to have heard back from Jim Spohrer and Nelson Graburn ('craven' typed out in gmail with AI) yesterday RSVPing ('RAMPing' typed out in gmail with AI) they can't come to 19 Oct party but I think they're both on board and thinking about World Univ & Sch (Nelson in China).

What are you up to today? And how are you? May seek to turn this US revolutionary poem-let here -

Tea (Camellia sinensis): Bring Eric Dodson's 10 indicators of wisdom - one after the other - to the creation of a musical album (like 'upcoming'"Honey in the Bag" bagpipe album? :) (Do I hear these in YO YO MA playing Bach cello suites? A bit) * * * American Revolution - Boston Tea Party ship * * * Selling my 'Naked Harbin Ethnography' book in the Harbin Hot Springs' bookstore itself?

http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/10/tea-camellia-sinensis-bring-eric.html?m=0 (appreciating too the wisdom in Eric Dodson's videos here)- I wrote on Friday (including a bit of our family history) into a ballad to be sung with SSP bagpipes on album ... it's that creative questioning that in part can lead for me to making rote practicing of sane tunes interesting. :) ... as well as ongoing related creative projects.

Love, Scott
