Seeking highest achieving English-speaking Greek students this autumn for free-to-students' undergraduate Bachelor's degrees, that are MIT OCW-centric, and then to turn MIT OCW into Greek. And students would be studying something like MIT OCW into MITx courses, conceptually like - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mitx-related-courseware/ - in The College at World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School ... and eventually via the Socratic method in tutorials or group video conferencing and per The Conference Method online - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Conference_Method_of_Teaching_and_Learning.
(Shahrzad above in California, with a UC Berkeley Ph.D. may help head Iran World Univ & Sch in a parallel vein???:) So in a sense Greek students would be getting MIT for free eventually (and thanks to you potentially).
All the best, Scott

Hi Tym, David, and Pin,
*Here are the newspapers I'm reading and news I'm watching regarding the - novel coronavirus COVID19 (SARS-CoV2) - (and am finding refreshing reading news in other languages re the 'fear quotient' in American newspapers with COVID19):
Here's the 'Kathimerini' newspaper in Greece in Greek, which I'm reading with Google Translate -
https://www.kathimerini.gr which I just learned of from an old Greek friend from 2004 in Greece, meeting today newly in video conference.
BILD
With a circulation of currently about 1,37 sold million copies daily, the BILD newspaper published by the Axel-Springer Publishing Company is Germany’s largest and most popular tabloid. The online version of this paper also gets a lot of hits each day. If you like a mixture of news, gossip, and sensationalism, be sure to bookmark bild.de.
www.bild.de
DIE ZEIT
“Independent, liberal and often at odds with the rest of the world” is how the former publisher, Countess Dönhoff, once described the weekly newspaper, DIE ZEIT, which has enriched the German newspaper scene each Thursday since 1946.
www.zeit.de
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung has appeared under the title of “Zeitung für Deutschland” (Newspaper for Germany) since 1949. Conservative political views, a feature section leaning towards the left and a liberal understanding of the business world - that is how one of the paper's earlier editors, Friedrich Karl Fromme, characterized the profile of the quality newspaper. These properties are also reflected in the independent online service, FAZ.NET.
www.faz.net
Frankfurter Rundschau
“Independent – but not neutral” is how the owner, publisher and editor Karl Gerold once defined the profile of the Frankfurter Rundschau (FR). Members of the editorial board of the left-liberal daily always felt a strong commitment to the principles of the welfare state and civil rights.
www.fr.de
Süddeutsche Zeitung
With news, features and information, the national daily Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ – Southern Germany News) stands out with its strong positions and independent style of journalism.
www.sueddeutsche.de
die tageszeitung (taz)
“die tageszeitung” (taz –the daily newspaper) claims to provide a mixture of “relevant information, intelligent entertainment and irritation”. The national leftist daily newspaper first appearing in Berlin in 1979 is an integral part of the German press landscape today – even though the publisher has come close to bankruptcy more than once. Readers love “die taz” for its sharp-tongued and sometimes acerbic reporting.
www.taz.de
Die Welt
The conservative newspaper Die Welt keeps its readers informed of what’s going on in Germany and the world by providing analysis and comment seven days a week. As soon as an article for Die Welt, Welt kompakt or Die Welt am Sonntag has been written it appears on the joint Internet portal Welt online.

Hi All ...
Monday World Univ & Sch Live Stream meets in about 5 minutes - https://www.youtube.com/ WorldUnivandSch/live ...
Am hoping to invite Petros Kalligas in Athens, Greece, into LIghtStream video platform itself which streams to Youtube Live, but am not finding where to do this, since LightStream updates / iterates fairly often. (Otherwise, I hope to invite Petros into a WUaS video conversation next week in Google for Education > Google video Meet > Youtube, which is also recently changed in response to COVID19).

Very glad to connect on Telegram newly with ...
NANETTE VAN NES in the Netherlands - and re novel corona virus COVID-19 from a Dutch perspective; (I first met Nanette in Massachusetts in the 1980s)!
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:20]
Hello Nanette! Great to see you here. How are you? Regards, Scott (worlduniversityandschool.org - scottmacleod.com
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:22]
Hi Scott! We’re fine. Bizar situation: schools closed and no social life for next 3 weeks
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:23]
:) How is the Netherlands in this time of novel Corona Virus COVID19?
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:23]
Working hard today on online lessons for my studentes
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:23]
Close to lock-down
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:25]
Bizarre time indeed ... am wondering if it's run through practice for "in case of emergency" in age of bioweapons even - and to get all ~200 countries organized for such emergencies. Exciting that you're teaching online ... Any exploration of MIT OCW that you've heard of by friends / colleagues there?
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:26]
Mit is not suitable for elementary school in NL
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:27]
This Corona is real, but deels far from us. But it’s here
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:27]
How about by any chance with your sister or cousin who are university faculty?

Mist of us will get sick, some will die. We do not realize it yet
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:29]
I think there's there's the reality of the aggressive genetic Corona Virus replication that began in China - and am speculating that some people flew then to Italy, Iran, South Korea, state of Washington ...
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:30]
We have a lot of online training for all ages. It’s a challenge to find te best one in all
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:30]
and then there's the media and memes (replicating cultural units) in the news ... which are spreading much fear too ... philosophical skepticism with sensible precautions?
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:33]
Dutch are not afraid... Always cool and relaxed. Lots of us don’t take all the measurements serious
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:33]
I follow on Twitter Harvard Grad Sch of Education Professor Karen Brennan (with a MIT Media Lab Ph.D.) and a focus on creative computing with the free Scratch visual programming language for kids ... (and where Scratch works with the 3 Lego Robotics' kits ) ... and HGSE itself ... am not sure about other best online thinking and elementary school lesson planning (in English and in Dutch)?
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:33]
That’s worrying me

I wonder again if this is an "in case of emergency" run through ... interesting to observe if and how sociologically the Dutch will change in response to the media?
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:35]
Thanks for all the ideas... At the moment I am overloaded with all the information in my own country already. I have worked for 3 days to het everything in order
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:36]
I don’t think it is an exercise
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:36]
All of us carry ~200 viruses in us anyway naturally I learned in the 1970s - not sure where known coronaviruses fit in here, let all the novel coronavirus
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:36]
We are heading to an economie crises
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:37]
People get partly fired, because all te work is gone
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:37]
I think this is overwhelming for many of us ... and it's interesting too to observe how people react in this new kind of emergency situation ... and how science and governments work together to share infomration and develop vaccines very quickly
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:38]
It is interesting, but for us it is surviving right now
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:39]
if this was an earthquake leading to a different virus outbreak (like Rabies) or a war or a large nuclear accident (or an asteroid on the planet), I wonder if the situation would be similar economically ...
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:39]
Our life 3 days ago feels realy far away
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:39]
Yes, it could be similar
Nanette van Nes, [16.03.20 14:41]
It’s bedtime for me now... and I’m completely falling apart. Sprak to you later okay?
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:41]
It could be great if it is a practice with us thinking it's an emergency ... for the learning experience ... the USA hasn't had a war on its soil since the 1860s - the Civil War and we're very un-tutored in dealing with such issues culturally or historically ... the Dutch have a bit more historical cultural memory in these regards ... the USA is a baby in modernity (re such emergencies) ... and now with the internet and 100 different news' sites in 100 different languages ...
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:42]
Talk with you later, and great to connect with this social media Telegram ... California is a place to head for for you if necessary and helpful (and if virus free)!
Scott GK MacLeod, [16.03.20 14:42]
Great to be in communication, Nanette! :)
