Rifai and Rohit, and All,
At WUaS monthly business meeting on Saturday, we agreed to make you, Rifai, CHANCELLOR of Sri Lanka World University and School AS AN ACADEMIC ROLE (and are planning approximately 200 chancellors of the WUaS online universities in each countries' official / main languages). And you're the acting head of India World Univ & Sch presently, Rohit as well. Rifai, WUaS is thinking that this role of chancellor and name may help you in communicating further with the Sri Lanka Ministry of Education, as well as even the head of the Sri Lanka central bank (re possibly UBI experiments, from GDocs' list to distribute a single cryptocurrency in most of ~200 countries' official / main languages), - and even regarding reimbursements to WUaS per student per semester from Sri Lankan counties for free-to-students' online Bachelor degrees. And I'll add it here - https://wiki. worlduniversityandschool.org/ wiki/World_University_ Foundation .
Here's the English version of WUaS on Google Sites - https://sites.google.com/ view/worlduniversityandschool - but which doesn't have any language for Sri Lankans and Indians, on WUaS Google Sites in the Sinhala language and in the Hindi language, that they will be studying for 4 years in English! ... and which language needs to be added.
I think this is the language in Sinhala, to be added in Hindi:
මෙම (2020) සරත් සමයේ නොමිලේ උපාධි ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ඉංග්රීසි භාෂා ප්රවීණතාවය විශ්ව විද්යාල මට්ටමින් විය යුතුයි. සිංහල විද්යාලය ඉගැන්වීම සහ ඉගෙනීම සඳහා විවෘත වනු ඇත
It could be great if this process of WUaS in many languages could be automated partly.
And here's the beginning of Sri Lanka WUaS - https://sites.google.com/ view/worlduniversityandschool/ srilanka - in Sinhala, and eventually with degrees in Sinhala language.
Congratulations Rifai on becoming WUaS first chancellor, and of Sri Lanka World University and School. (And congratulations, Rohit on getting india@ worlduniversityandschool.org email id!)
Regards,
Scott

Hi !
We better finalise things soon as we need to start enrolling. If we can't get help we need to find an alternative. Yes ! India and Sri Lanka could work together in Tamil language.
This is another open edx version for self hosting.
Regards,
Rifai

Hi Rifai and Rohit,
Thank you, Rohit, for talking just now from India - and about developing World University and School there, and even potentially for September 1st. (1,000 Indian undergraduate high achieving students too - and who have just completed high school as "toppers" :)?) Rohit is a 5th year law student living in central India, but having studied law in West Bengal, and will enter India's largest law in a few months.
I'd like to introduce you to one another here. Rifai is developing Sri Lanka World University and School, and has recently translated this - https://sites.google.com/ view/worlduniversityandschool/ srilanka - into the Sinhala language. I just asked if you could both explore translating the WUaS home page - worlduniversityandschool.org - into Hindi and on Google Sites, for Hindi speaking students who would then matriculate in English at WUaS this autumn for free-to-students' Bachelors' degrees. So, Rohit, could you please translate this page - worlduniversityandschool.org - into Hindi, and Rifai, could you please help Rohit add this to Google Sites? (It seems important to say, like in the Sinhala language, that courses would be in English, and potentially on the Open edX platform).
Rohit, could you, by any chance, please help find someone to translate this page into Tamil, since Rifai has been looking for a native Tamil speaker.
I'd also like to introduce you, Rohit Sharma, to Partha Mazumdar from the US and working in Sri Lanka, whose parents are originally from West Bengal, Peter Bothe in Germany, and Marisol Necochea, a Stanford teacher of Quechua language, originally from Peru.
More soon, about the matriculation process, and sign up forms, potentially from the Open edX platform, and regarding MOOCit France collaborations.
Rohit, I'll get you an India@ worlduniversityandschool.org email address soon. Thank you!
Best regards, Scott

Rifai, Rohit, Partha, Marisol, Peter,
About the enrollment process, and the GDocs' sign up form, potentially from the Open edX platform, and regarding MOOCit France-WUaS collaborations, I have scheduled a meeting with the CEO of MOOC it France, who are an 'official' service partner as part of the Open edX process (https://open.edx.org/ marketplace-category/service- partners/), on Wednesday at 7:15 am. I'll get back to you about the enrollment process after this.
More about MOOCit France here - https://scott-macleod. blogspot.com/2020/07/sri- lankan-elephant-mooc-it- france-edx.html - and Yvain Demollière, CEO. If WUaS and MOOCit France proceed, perhaps they will be designing the introductory courses in the WUaS undergraduate 6 majors (worlduniversityandschool.org) , and students will enroll via an Open edX platform (like MOOCit France's 2 courses) using the GDocs' sign-in form you created, Rifai (perhaps tweaked further for details re countries etc. from an Open edX knowledgeable perspective - and planning for all ~200 countries' official & main languages, and even for all 7.5 billion people on planet, as wiki teachers and learners on open wiki subject pages - https://wiki. worlduniversityandschool.org/ wiki/Subjects).
I'm hoping that on the Open edX platform, students will be able to add just their name email address, and that they're matriculating at WUaS for a 4 year period, in something that MOOCit France designs for courses themselves.
Regards,
Scott

Thank you Scott for the discussion. Just to clarify, I am graduated now and the covid setback has shifted my plans to join a law firm as late as January now. It's good to be connected with you Rifai. I will talk to you more on work in Sri Lanka and with respect to translating the page, I will do that by this weekend in Hindi as will also get it done in Tamil with the help of my friends. The only problem which I feel is Tamil version of Sri Lanka is slightly different from Tamil speakers of India. I am glad to be connected with you Parth, Peter and Marisol. Also Scott, I was hoping if you can make a google groups for this team for better communication if possible.
I also wish you good luck Scott, with your meeting with MOOCit France and hoping for the email address as well
Thanks in anticipation

Hello Rohit, Rifai, Partha, All,
Thanks for the conversation as well in Google Meet! And thanks for the information.
I'm pleased to write that WUaS has just sent you a new India@ worlduniversityandschool.org email address. Rohit, would you be up for beginning an SEAsia Google Group and with your new India@ worlduniversityandschool.org email address, if possible? In particular, it's yourself, Rifai at SriLanka@ worlduniversityandschool.org , Partha and myself that could be good beginning conversants. Peter and Marisol would be welcome to join, - and to get ideas for how such might work for south America and central America, as well as Europe, for example.
Would you and Rohit converse further about what version of Tamil might work best for you both, and on the WUaS Google Sites' pages? And how best to double-check the translations too? Google Translate can be used to help check these translations too! Thank you!
Regards, Scott

Bonjour Yvain,
Very nice to talk to you in Paris just now. As a starting point, here are some courses in World Univ & Sch's majors - worlduniversityandschool.org - to explore migrating or adapting to the Open edX platform at WUaS with MOOCit France:
English literature:
Introduction to Fiction
General Science:
Scientific Visualization across Disciplines: A Critical Introduction
General Engineering:
Lego Robotics
History:
Introduction to Environmental History
https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/ history/21h-421-introduction- to-environmental-history- spring-2011/
https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/
WUaS is seeking to link this new WUaS Open edX courses also to their corresponding wiki subjects here - https://wiki. worlduniversityandschool.org/ wiki/Subjects (and eventually in many languages).
Thoughts, questions, ideas, suggestions? Merci beaucoup.
Best regards, Scott

Dear Larry,
Had a good 45 minute talk with Yvain, CEO of MOOCit France, and we're on the same page.
WUaS is going to seek to get 3-4 courses, approximately 7 weeks' long each, involving 30 minutes-1 hour of studying per week, and aiming to get courses up for September 1 on the upcoming WUaS Open edX platform. We may be building them (or migrating them, or adapting them) in part ourselves on our own WUaS Open edX platform via MOOCit France. And they'll provide the hosting service too. We should get our own WUaS name on our Open edX platform, and enrollment will be name and email address, like edX. Course discussions will be in threaded chat conversations, and quizzes are part of this Open edX platform (probably re accreditation/licensing). So let's divide some MIT OCW courses in half to 7 week long courses, and make them accessible for September 1, for students, and begin to do outreach (potentially with MOOCit France too).
I've emailed Yvain some further possible courses, and added these too just now to the WUaS course catalog. Are you up for adapting 1-2 MIT OCW science courses for the autumn? (One of the courses I added newly to the catalog is the MIT OCW "Lego Robotics" experimental project, so I may be adapting this course in part, and could even teach my "Network Society, Information Technology and the Global University" course for the autumn too in a new way on WUaS Open edX).
It would be great to hire some 2nd year graduate students and beyond to begin to develop some of these courses too. And it would be great to get in touch with Scratch programming language facilitators & Havard Prof Karen Brennan, and Paulina Haduong to integrate Scratch with Lego Robotics. (I may email them, since I'm already a bit in communication with them having just completed their 10 day Scratch "Getting Unstuck," with brief prompts recently).
I think we can let our approximately 5 interested students know about these opportunities soon. There are 34 people on the students' list here - https://docs.google.com/ document/d/ 1RqCie9v0WkntPzucMTVTMLMMDHHA9 mQq9rME2N7_ufY/edit?usp= sharing - and one of them is former Board member Ed Smyth MD (re his kids even?) ... and it's an old list, but worth reaching out soon to perhaps. And will Sri Lanka be able to find 1000 students for the autumn as well?
Shahbaz Sanjer (in India) - English
Edward Gerwer (in Tennessee) - Engineering
Kat Bronte (in NC? but Australian) - Textile design? ??
Tanya Sullivan (in Florida) - Business (am not sure if we'll get an upper division Finance I course done for the autumn or not - will see how it goes)
Flying J (in Indiana?) - Science? (Astronomy)
Sri Lankan students?
Not sure about reimbursement from states and counties yet, but this WUaS enrollment process on the upcoming WUaS Open edX platform is a start toward this.
Thoughts, questions, ideas, suggestions?
Sincerely, Scott
