My name is imad zalmat, i'm 27 years old, i earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry then i work as a private teacher of middle school students things that allow me to develop a good learning skill to be updated and give my best. I'm a learning passionate person and look always to learn new things to be in scale, and this year i start learning programming and i find myself enjoying the process and eager to learn and understand more about the field and through your scholarship i can push my learning pace to the next level regarding the high quality courses provided in edx platform from the best known universities and institutions thing that is encouraging to learn more from them, this is one of the programs that i really interested about from the New York university : https://www.edx.org/microbachelors/nyux-programming-data-structures. I hope my request can be taken into consideration and evaluated, and I will appreciate any feedback from you regarding my application and thank you.
Best regards

Dear Zalmat,
Thank you for your email. Were you responding to this newly updated World Univ & Sch (WUaS) website -
worlduniversityandschool.org ? World University and School is offering free-to-students' Bachelor degrees, and planning to offer online Ph.D. degrees beginning next year (as well as MD and Law degrees after this), first in English, then in all ~200 countries and in their official and main languages. What is / are your native languages? And in what country are you a citizen?
Our WUaS degrees are CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric -
https://ocw.mit.edu/ - and while WUaS has newly partnered with edX, it's only for individual courses from this edX catalog -
https://www.edx.org/ - and WUaS is not offering the MicroBachelor degrees such as the NYU program you shared with us -
https://www.edx.org/microbachelors/nyux-programming-data-structures (since NYU has their own arrangement with edX). Would you be interested in applying for a free-to-students' online Ph.D. degree beginning next year sometime, and in computer science (or EECS, or general science), or even chemistry, since you already have a Bachelor's degree (in chemistry), and seem interested in Programming and Data Structures? Thank you.
Best regards,
Scott

Thank you so much for your response and your time, actually I'm a Moroccan citizen, and Moroccan's dialect native, and my studies was in French.
I'm excited to pursue my studies and yes I'm interested in the provided degree by your university either in chemistry and computer science and if there is any possibility to get benefit from the programming courses in the Edx catalogue i will be grateful.
Best regards

Hi Zalmat and Larry,
Here, too, is a recent Tweet from MIT Chemistry and with regard to their developing relationship with edX:
WUaS's is engaging MIT OCW's Creative Commons' 4 licensing re the open access to the MIT OCW courses, and has a developing partnership emerging with edX. Please let me know of your further thoughts, questions, ideas or suggestions in all of these regards, Zalmat. Thank you.
Best regards, Scott
PS Larry Viehland went to MIT as an undergraduate in Chemistry / Physics, and has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin Madison in Chemistry (and is the chairman of the Board at WUaS, if you have any specific questions specific to academics; he's also the head of the Academic Accreditation committee).
PPS I've only visited Morocco once, and been to Fez and Marrakech, in addition to Casablanca.
Nice to be in communication.
*
Thank you scott and larry for your presence and your dedicating time, regarding your question if i have to choose, i will take in advantage the computer science curriculum as I start to put steps over the field and I'm ready to dedicate the required time and effort to take my learning journey to the next level and i would prefer to learn in English besides that if there is the possibility i could take some minors in chemistry.
Best regards and you're welcomed in Morocco all the time.

Dear Zalmat and Larry,
Thank you too, Zalmat! Stay tuned - I'm meeting with an edX representative for WUaS on Monday afternoon, and we'll talk further about the ~2,500 courses -
https://www.edx.org - WUaS can offer for free-to-students' (Bachelor) Ph.D. degrees (probably over a 7 year average completion time, and prior to the fundamental research involved in doing a Phd), as, importantly, WUaS licenses and accredits first in California (so it would be as if you were studying toward a Ph.D. from Stanford, brainstorming-wise, since Stanford is accredited by WASC senior, like WUaS is seeking to be), - and regarding a Ph.D. in Computer Science beginning possibly in September 2021.
While WUaS hasn't begun to plan for our PhDs so far, there may well be some coursework, possibly at the Bachelor's Degree level, that it would be helpful for you to take in order to matriculate as a WUAS Ph.D. student, possibly in September 2021, for example. While you would be applying for a Ph.D. candidates' position at WUaS, and for your information, WUaS also seeks eventually to hire Project Heads and University heads in most countries (and we may seek to hire along the lines that Google hires -
https://careers.google.com/how-we-hire/) ... and seek matriculating student applications along the lines that Stanford seeks in its application process.

Would you be interested in studying toward applying to a free-to-students' Ph.D. program at MIT OpenCourseWare-centric wiki World Univ & Sch, beginning with Bachelor-level edX courses, in order to gain the background? Larry and I will begin to think through further about how applying for WUaS Ph.D.s will work, thanks to your potential interest.
What are some of your social media sites - Twitter, LinkedIn or similar if you'd care to share these? Thank you!
Best regards, and looking forward to meeting you online (in virtual Morocco?) at some point, to talk further,
Scott

Dear scott,
Thank you again and i'm looking forward to meet you and Larry as well, and also start my learning journey in World University and School and i will be glad to start the bachelor's courses as you mentioned.

Thanks so much, Zalmat,
Do you happen to know Brian Seilstad -
https://www.facebook.com/brian.seilstad - whom I know from the San Francisco Quaker Meeting, and who lives in Ifrane, Morocco, where he's at the university? In what city do you live? I'll let you know what I learn after talking with the edX representative on Monday - and regarding WUaS planning for emerging Ph.D. degrees, and how you might best develop a background for a CS Phd at WUaS, which is CC-4 MIT OCW-centric and online (as you change academic directions from your undergraduate degree in chemistry) ... Since WUaS is CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric, WUaS will be free-to-students, and is going to seek reimbursement from all ~200 countries' departments of education, per student per year. So this would be part of our conversation ahead, as we think through how you might best prepare to apply for Ph.D. candidacy at World Univ & Sch. And initially the application process would be similar to the new approach WUaS has outlined fairly recently here -
worlduniversityandschool.org - but which will develop further as our website grows.
Regards, Scott

Thank you dear Scott for your effort and your time, actually i don't know Brian Seilstad but I'm glad to get in touch with him and i will send a friend request, about the city where i live it's called "Salè" which is attached to the capital Rabat, they are separated by river called "Abou regrag",the ifrane city is about 192 km from here and it's one of the most beautiful city of Morocco.
I'm looking forward to hear from you in the next coming days about any updates and thank you again for your dedication.

edX
Hello Scott,
I hope my note finds you well. As we approach the new year, I was curious if we can arrange a time next week to discuss your progress with the initiative and ensure that we are on the same page with the direction of the partnership.
Regarding access to learners sign-ups and grades, this takes place on the admin dashboard. Accessing learner data requires a signed agreement with edX and prepaid access to courses. I have included a link below for what the Admin Dashboard looks like for your review.
Best regards,
Matthew

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for reaching out, and I hope this email finds you well.
Sounds good. Where please is the link to the Admin Dashboard - I don't see it in your email.
I'm also sharing with you an email exchange I just now engaged in with a new prospective student, and Larry Viehland, regarding his inquiry into taking edX courses. Perhaps we could talk about this email too, when we video chat. Thank you. As WUaS builds out our Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, and MD degrees, and IB high school diplomas, in all ~200 countries, and in their official and main languages - and plans for all speakers of all 200 countries' main and official languages, each a Wikidata Q-tiem #, then also speakers of all 7,117 known living languages - and then brainstorming-wise for all 7.8 billion people on the planet -
https://worlduniversityandschooldatabase.wiki.opencura.com/wiki/Item:Q4 -
https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2020/12/nov-21-2020-minutes-for-world.html ..
. - I can see how a 7 year average time to finish a Ph.D. at WUaS might not be in Zalmat's interests, at this time. Let's keep in touch about this as well. I'll let you know if and how Zalmat replies in our meeting. Thank you.
Best regards, Scott

Hello Scott,
That sounds great, I look forward to connecting and discussing further. Here is an attached PDF to the Admin Dashboard for your review.

Dear Larry,
I've just scheduled a meeting with Matthew at edX on Monday afternoon in MIT Zoom, and he's also sent me the template for the emerging edX dashboard, regarding "learners' sign-ups and grades." This is the information we've been asking for, and it looks like a good starting point - since WUaS could potentially interoperate our own Wikidata Q-item #s or WUaS Q-item PIN #s for 7.8 billion people, on our end, emerging, with this (and even for Stanford 'Mine Pi' cryptocurrency brainstorming-wise).
What other information might WUaS want from such an edX "learners' sign-ups and grades"' information source, - and compared with our own hypothetical dashboard which we might create for students studying MIT OCW courses into our own Learning Management System, such as in G Suite for Education?
What do you think of this edX Dashboard?
Sincerely, Scott

ISSIP Discovery Summit
ISSIP Discovery Summit: Future of Work & Learning Series http://www.issip.org/issip-discovery-summit-future-of-work-learning2/
Hi everyone,
Looking forward to your participation at the ISSIP Discovery Summit in less than 3 hours, today, 2-5 pm PST.
Please see the zoom information below.

Hi Terri,
Thanks for your great moderation of the ISSIP conference. Regarding workcraft (Job crafting is a means of describing the ways in which employees utilize opportunities to customize their jobs by actively changing their tasks and interactions with others at. work. Those who engage in these actions are called job crafters, and research suggests they can. -
https://positiveorgs.bus.umich.edu/wp-content/uploads/What-is-Job-Crafting-and-Why-Does-it-Matter1.pdf) .
Am curious whether Google kind of front-ends work crafting in their hiring process regarding this questions -
What is something you learned that made everything that came after easier?
Have more of your achievements come as a result of solitary effort or teamwork?
What do you enjoy more, solving problems or pushing the discussion forward?
What is the most rewarding job you've ever had? Why?
Describe the best team you ever worked with. What made that experience stand out?
which leads to a series of other questions in the career-hiring process at Google that might further inform their work crafting from the beginning (and given too that Google is kind of an AI company per Peter Norvig) ...
and re what I asked in chat:
"Am an applicator of Google - invite them to ISSIP (brainstorming-wise)? - I looked up their hiring practices -
https://careers.google.com/how-we-hire/ - and am wondering how T-shaped approaches might interoperate. How might these approaches to careers at Google interface with T-shaped thinking re ISSIP? Thanks!"
Thoughts, ideas, questions, suggestions?
(MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch may well engage these Google practices, in 200 countries, and in 7,117 known living languages, when we begin to hire). Thank you!
Thanks, Scott

Dear Terri, Jim, Yassi, Deb, Jutta, Obinna, Ammar, John Garrett, Ulf, Pk Agarwal, All,
Let's stay in touch about CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch planned in all ~200 countries, and in all 7,117 known living languages, and even in a realistic virtual earth for everything (Think Google Street View / Maps / Earth with TensorFlow AI, and regarding realistic artificial humans, aka like Samsung Neons - eg
https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForLanguages?src=hashtag_click ).
Am an appreciator of Google - invite them to ISSIP (brainstorming-wise)? - I looked up their hiring practices -
https://careers.google.com/how-we-hire/ - and am wondering how T-shaped approaches, job-crafting, and service design, might interoperate in regards to Google's career hiring practices. How might these approaches to careers at Google interface with T-shaped thinking re ISSIP? Thanks!
World University and School just became a member of ISSIP as well! Thank you, Yassi and Jim!

Thanks Scott for all your support of ISSIP!
If I can find the links, there are some online videos of Googlers talking about the need for T-shaped people - but will take some digging to find them.

Jim, Yassi, and All,
Great! Looking forward to the "online videos of Googlers talking about the need for T-shaped people - but will take some digging to find them...." Looking forward to checking them out regarding this definition of a Googler -
https://careers.google.com/how-we-hire/ - again. (Am wondering what some of the limitations of WUaS hiring eventually, and engaging these Google "how we hire" approaches).
Thanks so much,
