and this from the Stanford Graduate School of Business GSB - which may be some theory behind "Pi"
Am still thinking that Stanford Mine Pi Coin' may become adopted by the US central bank, the European Central Bank, and many of the other 200 countries' central banks, with the other 10000s of cryptocurrencies, becoming like numismatics.
Cheers, Scott

to Sri
Rifai,
here's Hester Peirce with some earth day thoughts - https://twitter.com/HesterPeirce/status/1385410886353969159?s=20 - and she mentions "mining techniques" at about 1minute 30 seconds, which are one unique and remarkable aspect of digital currencies. Stanford Mine Pi Coin may be one of the best, (eg anticipating technology developments, countries' legal and IT infrastructure issues, security aspect) at this too - and even regarding possible UBI experiments to alleviate poverty among all 7.8 billion people in 200 countries for example. What do you think?
Regards, Scott

What significant here about cryptocurrencies, and their related blockchain ledgers here, is the role they could play, for example, in mining outer space and even robotically in a realistic virtual universe - as one integrated system even.

Ethics of accepting a prize by philosopher Jürgen Habermas:
Habermas first accepted a prize of $225,000 Euros (which word 'prize' was translated from the German by Google Translate as price) from a UAE Sheik, Mohammed bin Zayed, and later Habermas declined it, due to
The role of a large sum of prize money and conscientious objection (in a Quaker sense too) of it is fascinating to me here, since morals and ethics, based on newly learned knowledge, seem to be informing philosopher Habermas' decision - and in the context of a EU country, Germany, and an Arab country, UAE - and between these languages, and ethical and legitimizing 'systems' and histories, too. Am not a professional philosopher, as I observed in my questions at the close of a recent series of Harvard Philosophy talks - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/04/african-grass-owl-harvard-philosophy.html - but thinking about the implications of where money comes from and what it symbolizes, and even 'buys' seems relevant here.
If somehow I could come into possession of the Canyon 94516 home I refer to before, legally and legitimately, I think this could very well improve the ethics of Canyon, and be consistent ethics-wise for me, and even re my conscientious objection in a variety of (Friendly Quaker-informed) situations too. Ethics and money have moral implications, and even regarding the 'international illegal sex industry' for example - and possibly regarding Canyon 94516. How to significantly lessen such crime and criminality is an interesting question too, and conscientious objection could be one approach, and removing perpetrators from the scenes of the crimes could be another.
Having lived and studied in Germany for a year (1981-82), and been active in an unprogrammed Quaker Meeting there, am appreciative of the role of conscientious objection there too (eg Die Weise Rose - aka 'The White Rose') - and with regard to learning from its history, and good German ethics in general - and about money-issues too.
