UPCOMING Harvard Social Anthropology Seminar Series: A Conversation with KAMALA VISWESWARAN & JENNIFER NASH
From the text chat:
Kaya Naomi Williams to Everyone (12:08 PM)
welcome everyone! just putting in the chat as well: please feel free to use the raise hand function to ask a question or type a question in the chat! we will be keeping an eye on both, and the floor is open for questions from minute one!
Me to Everyone (12:13 PM)
Thanks for this great conversation!
Am curious how the following wiki subjects for open teaching and learning at World University and School (and check out the CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare courses here, eventually for credit for free-to-students' degrees) - will emerge in each of ~200 countries' official and main languages (with faculty, and machine learning translation too) -

Niyoosha Ahmadikhoo to Everyone (12:17 PM)
Have you experienced being pigeonholed as an expert of “black feminist studies” or “south asian studies” (due to your identities) throughout your career? If so, what was your reaction?
Me to Everyone (12:46 PM)
Thanks, Jennifer, thanks! What might it mean further for Black Studies to “shape the university” - if this included writing it ethnographically, and thus building it out, - and with regards to CC-4 ocw.mit.edu wiki World Univ & Sch planned in each of ~200 countries, as major online universities for free-to-students’ degrees, and in all 7, 139 known living languages, each a wiki school for open teaching and learning (for speakers of each of these languages)? Thanks, Scott
Me to Everyone (1:12 PM)
Thanks, Kamala and Jennifer, Jarrett, for your thoughts about Black Feminist Presses, and how they've have played a central role in the development of all these related academic fields. Brainstorming-wise, how would a new Academic Press, seeking to incorporate the creation, the co-wiki-building too, of Ethnographic Field Sites, (STEM field sites too) and classrooms, best find form in Google Street View with time slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlowAI - TEXT-IN-THE-SIDEBAR particularly - and with Translate, with Realistic Avatar Bots (post Samsung Neons, aka artificial humans) … and to publish both to paper, as well as in a new digital virtual earth book format, in all 7,139 known living languages? http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html Thanks, Scott (~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook ~
re "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book, 2016, Academic Press at World Univ & Sch too)?
Me to Everyone (1:15 PM)
How might wiki teaching and learning might be a far-reaching form of non-disciplinarily, or un-disciplinarily, … and even in all 7,139 known living languages, each as wiki schools, and even with machine learning translation? Thanks, Scott

Great and fascinating conversation (ethnographically identity-wise, a word (re Manuel Castells’ middle book in his information age trilogy, “The Power of Identity”) which wasn’t mentioned, I think, re Black Feminist Studies too). Thanks so much! - Scott (sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org - and how best to carry on this conversation?

Thank you, everyone.

Ma,
Had also attended a Harvard Social Anthropology Seminar from noon to 1:45 partly about Black Feminist Studies and Theory, and re the following subjects I posted in Group Text chat as part of the conversation, and while interesting (and I'm a progressive too and familiar with some of the precursors to this thinking (at Reed College and beyond), I also have issues with feminism, and I didn't entirely connect with the two main speakers. Yet networks for Work World University and School and at the Academic church of Harvard have merit.

I wonder somehow if Taylor and or Ed tuned into my participation in this, and whether that could have informed Taylor's behavior ...
Could speaker Kamala Visweswaran even know US vice president (and both be of India-Jamaican heritage?) of same first name (and re illegal sex industry?) And could speaker Jennifer Nash know Ed's sister in law, also a bit like eldest daughter somehow? (Speculatively ...?) But could they also help with building out Work World University and School? Diversity questions will grow with WUaS ... Time to get the Minutes for WUaS Monthly Business Meeting out ... These folks aren't necessarily meditators, and are also academics with intellectual agendas which may also include career creation for academics. Will see what unfolds ...
Glad you are back home safely! And re an ongoing calling for abolition of the illegal sex industry internationally ... which all of these folks might support ethically, yet not having thought about the cultural or legal or law enforcement implications, or changes re the Anti-slavery act or the Emancipation Proclamation re implications ... even as such Abolition movement would free a lot of people and well into the future.
Love, Scott
