Orinda Books' bookstore & World Univ & Sch (WUaS) Press Publisher Distribution centers' communication
*
Dear Pat, Orinda Books,
Greetings, and very nice to talk to you just now at Orinda Books -
https://www.orindabooks.com/. Great to hear you've known the CA state senator Steve Glazer for years now. I went into the Orinda office again re 4 recent tax bills for WUaS CORPORATION (3 of them were duplicates, in one way or another). You have a nice spacious store, in asking, brainstorming-wise, about you carrying Lego Robotics' kits, for which WUaS Corporation is an authorized reseller, and regarding the WUaS Press's books (literature and anthropology, poetry and ethnography) too. (Thanks too to the person who showed me your Lego books yesterday, only one of which had a few Lego pieces in it). Interesting to learn you don't have any Lego Robotics' kits.
Could we share information further about this, brainstorming wise, and regarding in Contra Costa county students and young STEM Robotics' learning and research re - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - as well as Orinda Books?
Brainstorming wise,
from the perspective of WUaS Press Publisher Educational Services' Distribution Centers, Computer & Robotics' stores ...
1 Could WUaS become an authorized on the ground distribution center (and not just from our developing website planned in many languages) for Lego Robotics' kits in your store to your great advantage? How?
2 Could WUaS Academic Press also distribute some of the 5 WUaS books, if WUaS Press books weren't available through a larger distribution center like Ingram (with easy returns for example)? (I worked in a bookstore Publishing House back east for some years and there (Pendle Hill Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation) the bookstore ordered from Ingram too for example, and took 40% of the price on the book's cover, And Pendle Hill Center as Publishing House took 60% of the PH books' cover price. Ingram also took 60%, and I think sent 40% to the books' publishers.
3 Could WUaS also set up somehow a WUaS display case, like the Penguin carousel you have Penguin books on ... And to make available both WUaS Books and the 3 Lego Robotics' kits ... And especially to let Orinda residents know of free-to-students' upcoming CC-4 MIT OCW-CENTRIC degrees from home, - Bachelor, PhD, and IB high school, ... with home robotics in the MIT OCW-CENTRIC engineering degrees + eg with https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/ ?
4 Could Contra Costa county be part of the reimbursement mechanism to WUaS, for these OCW.mit.edu centric Free to Students' degrees from home? For poorer Contra Costa students for Lego Robotics' kits to WUaS and Orinda Books? Could Contra Costa county somehow guarantee revenue to Orinda Books' bookstore monthly? Could WUaS build on Orinda Books' bookstore supplying some books to Contra Costa county schools?
5 in what ways further could Orinda Books benefit from this, in Lego Robotics' sales, and books' sales, and as re the CC-4 MIT OCW-CENTRIC WORLD UNIV AND SCH outreach ...from the counties' department of Education ... and could this also become a model for developing our Actual-Virtual, Physical-Digital Lego Robotics' Engineering in a realistic virtual earth for Lego Robotics? See
#RealisticVirtualEarthForLego eg here -.

#RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics
https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1451591467282034689
Then how further to build out the actual-virtual, physical-digital WUaS Press Publisher Educational Services' Distribution Centers - like Orinda Books itself - from
http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html ? ... With Google's help? Even in Google Street View with time slider somehow for inventory and online WUaS and Orinda Books' sales?
There are many big ticket benefits' items of Lego Robotics' kits for Orinda books - especially if Contra Costa county and students were involved.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions for connecting with state senator Steve Glazer for WIaS Corporation's getting off the ground, and county reimbursement to WUaS questions - in a kind of triangulation? ...
re
1 Orinda Books' bookstore
2 WUaS
3 County department of Education
?
Without any WUaS capital yet, WUaS could as authorized reseller of Lego ROBOTICS' kits would seek to 'pass through' as a distribution center (distributor or publisher) our WUaS Lego Robotics' kits (re returning and shop wear questions etc. too) and Orinda Books' bookstore and WUaS would receive a standard share of any sales. If Orinda Books was interested, I'd email contact Lego's Leanna Prater in Kentucky and lawyer Soren Jorgensen at his Stanford University Fellowship about how to proceed with Lego re terms and arrangements,.later contacting state senator Steve Glazer in Contra Costa county) ...
Thoughts on the phone? How might we best explore some of these questions further, besides my reaching out to the schools you suggested?
Thank you so much for your help and communication with me, Pat. It was good to meet and connect with you.
Sincerely, Scott

Dear Larry,
Found and went into Orinda Books -
not far from Moraga and Canyon 94516 in East Bay hills area, in a well to do area too; it's just on the other side of Hwy 580 from the state senator representative's office I went into again re 4 recent tax bills for WUAS CORPORATION. Nice store, 38 yrs old, spacious inside with space, asked about Lego Robotics' kits, & counter person showed me their Lego books, only one of which had a few Lego pieces in it. They don't have any Lego Robotics' kits.
Could we collaborate? From the WUaS Press Publisher Educational Services' bookstores / Robotics' stores ...
1 Could WUaS become an authorized on the ground distribution center for Lego Robotics' kits?
2 Could WUaS Academic Press also distribute some of the 5 books?
3 Could WUaS also set up somehow a display case to let Orinda residents know of free-to-students' upcoming CC-4 MIT OCW-CENTRIC degrees with home robotics in engineering degrees +?

Then how further to build out the actual virtual physical digital WUaS Press Publisher Educational Services' bookstores from
Will head over there again today for further information sharing in these regards re benefits of big ticket benefits' items of Lego Robotics' kits for bookstores - with my Lego WeDo 2.0
Lego Robotics' kit in hand as well as some of my WUaS Press books.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions for connecting with the state representative possibly beforehand - for credibility, and county reimbursement to WUaS questions - in a kind of triangulation? ...

Dear Larry,
Also,
Am going to pay the ~ $3,800 credit card bill today which includes paying off, then, the CA FTB tax bill ... could be significant from multiples parties' perspectives
A WUaS bookstore cafe in every county in every country in the world and maintaining good relationships with a large group of Independent Booksellers in all countries ... with a particular focus at WUaS on poorest and underserved neighborhoods and counties?
May likely seek to make and run a little WeDo 2.0 robot to bring in to Orinda Books' bookstore, and run it there ...
Sincerely,
Scott

Glad to have gone back into Orinda Books' bookstore to talk with Pat the manager and give her my World Univ & Sch card, and show her my copy of Ishiguro's "Klara and the Sun" I'm reading - mentioning having seen 2 copies on their shelves the day before, - as well as mentioning the possibility of 7.9 billion personal robots for all of us, and as artificial friends even, regarding the Lego Robotics' kits WUaS Corp is an authorized reseller of (and many head into Barnes and Nobles today, which has a very large collection of Lego toy sets, but no Lego Robotics' kits) :)

Hi Shahrzad, (and Chinmay)!
How are you (in southern California, Shahrzad)?
I hope this email finds you well. WUaS is continuing to develop World Univ & Sch, and for Iran and India, and am exploring, as you may have read, UBI experiments via a single cryptocurrency worldwide, in most of all ~200 countries, and backed by their central banks, how Stanford Mine Pi might work (and dovetailing eventually with free universal wiki education, people to people, via wikis -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University), and wonder if you might be able to test this Stanford Mine Pi with some friends, in Iran (and in India) -
I am sending you 1π! Pi is a new digital currency developed by Stanford PhDs, with over 25 million members worldwide. To claim your Pi, follow this link
https://minepi.com/sgkmac and use my username (sgkmac) as your invitation code.
--
I'm up to about ~2400 Pi coins, and I continue to 'mine' this about every 24 hours by clicking on two buttons, and it's working well. I think Stanford Mine Pi will eventually connect up with the Google Pay function on smartphones ... so it's a great opportunity to build up free money daily, simply by clicking on an algorithm ...
What do you think?
Friendly regards,
Scott

I'm Back
Dear Ma,
A 'bulletin board' subsection on the SUBJECT TEMPLATE wiki page to then inform the other wiki World University and School pages is a GREAT idea (then in many languages) - Thank you !
For, for example ..
And besides contacting Jean Walsh at Walsh Bagpipes in Antigonish Nova Scotia Canada about whether they have a bulletin board etc
It's here that there's much potential ...
It might get lots of people and student types putting up bulletins and posters (like post it's) ... & like at an University ... :) ... Especially if it were at times part too of a class ... And the coding of such a subsection could get interesting digitally compared with paper on a cork board or similar ...
Not sure how long it could take to pipe thru the SUBJECT TEMPLATE to Subject Pages, or if they're connected even now (added a new 'Technology Scouting' subsection recently (so can check), at WUaS ... But that people could post things in a familiar way re bulletin board at an Univ is super helpful ...
Have a good haircut ...
Love,
Scott
Sorry previous piping student seems to be becoming a s.. offender ... Scary stuff ... More here ...

WUaS Press as an authorized reseller of these 3 Lego Robotics' kits

Dear Leanna, (Soren, and Larry, chairman of the WUaS Board),
Thanks so much for making WUaS - World Univ & Sch - an authorized reseller of these 3 Lego Robotics' kits -
http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html. Am following up, now that the WUaS Corporation has received and paid its very first tax bill for 2018, 2019, and 2020, to the state of California's Franchise Tax Board - FTB (having incorporated as a for profit general stock company in CA in 2017, while remaining a non-profit 501 c 3 at both the US federal and state of CA levels ... which is a remarkable opportunity). With this information, I went into Orinda Books' bookstore yesterday in the SF Bay Area East Bay Hills, and talked with Pat the manager there, brainstorming-wise, asking how it might work if WUaS Corp could be a authorized distribution center for Lego Robotics's kits, as well as for the Academic Press at WUaS's books (planned in 7,139 known living languages, with machine translation). Orinda Books' bookstore only carries a few Lego books (one with bricks in it), but the manager Pat herself is friends with the state senator of District 7, in Contra Costa county, Steve Glazer - and who could be a great resource for World Univ & Sch / the WUaS Corp for a variety of reasons. I just went into this state representative's office also in Orinda the other week to talk about this very first WUaS tax bill from the CA FTB, and which I'm seeing as a green light from the state of CA, for the WUaS Corporation.
So I'm now in a Barnes and Noble bookstore in the East Bay of the SF Bay Area, and wondering about meeting with its head manager on Saturday, and since they carry a large selection of Lego toys, but no Lego Robotics. They have 614 large bookstores in the 50 US states, and are headquartered in NYC. And it looks like their Chief Merchandising Officer is on Twitter, for further possible communication. In a creative and exploratory way, whether WUaS in beginning to grow and offer online 'WUaS Home Robotics' for engineering majors, and also for other young researchers and learners, - also on the wiki side of World Univ & Sch, and say, with - - whether and how I could explore this possible opportunity with Barnes and Nobles? Could WUaS being an authorized reseller involve the potential to become a distribution center of Barnes and Noble bookstore for example?
Leanna, Soren, is there an opportunity here for WUaS to further grow and make Lego Robotics' kits available to our prospective students, and related researchers and learners, at CC-4 MIT OCW-centric WUaS in the USA, and also do outreach, brainstorming-wise, via even a possible display case carousel, for example, in bookstores, of our WUaS Academic Press Books, combined with this 3 Lego Robotics' kits? How might or would or could this work? Or as an authorized reseller of Lego Robotics' kits, could we become a distribution center for these, and a separate distribution center for our books as they emerge? And what are the terms that Lego as a producer works on, with say, distribution centers, and also retailers? In the bookstore business, retailers get 40% of the book's cover price, distributors get 20% and publishers get 40% - would these 3 Lego Robotics' follow a similar pattern?
It looks like we were emailing -
Alexandra Vlachakis <
alexandra.vlachakis@lego.com>
, Leanna Prater <
leanna.prater@lego.com>, Larry Viehland <
viehland@chatham.edu>, Matt Clark <
matt.clark@lego.com> - last June 2020 about initial steps in WUaS becoming an authorized reseller of these 3 Lego Robotics' kits, but I've received bouncebacks from Matt Clark, and I think Alexandra Vlachakis stopped working at Lego, and may now work for the Chicago department of Education or similar.
Leanna, how please might we best proceed in these regards? (In a further brainstorming way, I've explored some related ideas here -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/12/violet-viola-odorata.html - in yesterday's daily blog post, in the robotics' label). I'm reading (Nobel Literature Prize winner) Kazuo Ishiguro's "Klara and the Sun" presently, which about Artificial Friends, and Robot People, and Personal Robots, and wondering about, further in a brainstorming vein, 7.9 billion personal robots for every person on the planet, (where 6.4 billion people are supposed to have smartphones on the planet at this point, and which you'll see in a recent related blog post). Thanks so much!
Looking forward to further communication about this, and thank you again!
Thanks, Sincerely, Scott

Dear Leanna, and Larry,
As a follow up, I'm also interested in these questions regarding WUaS as a Lego Robotics' kits' distribution center to independent bookstores, and regarding even counties, and their school systems.
I just searched on
'lego robotics' kits at barnes and noble'
So on behalf of WUaS, I'm still interested in finding out what Lego, and you, Leanna, say about WUaS as a potential Lego Robotics' kits distribution center for say Orinda Books' bookstore, and in Contra Costa county, for example, and re Lego's terms and arrangements, so again, for Contra Costa county schools and eventually even matriculating WUaS students from Contra Costa county too regarding reimbursement from the county (and eventually counties in the USA in all 50 US states), to World Univ & Sch, and also regarding WUaS Bookstores, Computer Stores, Robotics' stores, and cafes on-the-ground, as well as online, in all counties in the USA, (and eventually potentially in all counties in the world potentially). Thanks so much, and looking forward to further communication about this.
Sincerely, Scott

Dear Leanna, and Larry,
As a follow up, I'm also interested in these questions regarding WUaS as a Lego Robotics' kits' distribution center to independent bookstores, and regarding even counties, and their school systems.
I just searched on
'lego robotics' kits at barnes and noble'
... and found that Barnes and Nobles carries Lego Robotics' kits like Mindstorms, (of which WUaS is an authorized Lego reseller too, as I understand this) - https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/lego-mindstorms-robot-inventor-51515-lego/1140215289
Also what please does 'Retired - Contact Us' mean for WeDo 2.0 Robotics' kit ... https://education.lego.com/en-us/products/lego-education-wedo-2-0-core-set/45300#wedo-20 ... http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html... and even regarding a kind of starter Robotics' kit for possible learners potentially in bulk.
