Mt Tamalpais off trail
Ma (Janie), Joan Kidder, ALL,
At the top of beautiful Mt Tamalpais, somewhat north of the Mountain Theater area upon coming to the top, have gone off trail into a complex wood, not easily walkable but very beautiful.
Hot on top - 87-88 F hot so far .... Thought to head down 2 CURVES south of Stinson beach town, where I learned at Buckeye hot springs that one can find the Stinson hot springs - on a double reverse low tide, the person at Buckeye (one of 4 chiropractors in a party of 5 said about 4 weeks ago in another hot springs communication). Blog post about this here -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/06/sonora-pass-california.html - with pic of waking up view in the back of my "spaceship Beethoven Raga mobile," a subcompact Toyota Prius c 2016 4th generation.
Since it's so nice and cool in this somewhat old forest now atop Mt Tamalpais state park, and with stellar views of the vast Pacific ocean, including the town of Stinson beach and what also look to be very crowded beaches way down there, and heat too, I think I'll explore around up here on top in the cool forest parts and head down there to eyeball the hot springs on the beach toward the end of the day. I've long heard about these submerged at high tide hit springs, but never once have stumbled upon directions... until at Buckeye hot springs, with more from last Sunday at Buckeye hot springs -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/07/flame-skimmer.html.
And when, Johnny, are the next double reverse low tides at Stinson beach, maybe at a full moon too, or anyone, I wonder? Hippy (in the past) Bolinas inlet with town just to the north is on many nautical charts as is possibly Stinson beach but which isn't such a unique long stretch of strand to be possibly helpful navigationally re nautical charts.
Would love to be able to share this all with you beyond writing in iterating 3D and virtual reality and in a realistic virtual earth for history and traveling and genetics too) ... But sorry to say Work World University and School is not that far along in creating such Apps (or collaborating with Google Street View with time slider CAMERAs for walking and backpacking) ... Stay tuned but don't hold your breath:)
Appreciating this forest I'm in with much moss on the trees, seeing the base of a fallen large tree, soil exposed but no longer any roots visible, fern growing at the top of the fallen trunk, and the closely packed trees and organisms very varied too ... Wanting to add this to a realistic virtual earth for evolutionary biology in My Tamalpais - so you could be here now and exploring too:
Fond Regards,
Scott

Sausalito here now wow ...lots of beautiful SAILBOATS ... Walked down a pier or two after visiting a very nice bookstore right near the town Center's corner of the sailboat marina, and saw a few nice wooden boats, some nice sailboats with beautiful lines, ... and a boat with much character, kind of goofy, a nice stink pot powerboat almost with some tugboat lines ... And kind of a creative expression of boat design too
In bookshop (an inspiration for WUaS Educational Services' Stores for books?)
I saw
Chapman's ...
Chapman Piloting & Seamanship (1917)
The Ashley Book of Knots (1944)
Book by Clifford Warren Ashley
...both of which I'm familiar with from Cuttyhunk... And could be fun too for my kids even when they come along... (and I think Chapman book is in our MacLeod Piney's House
Saw too -
Words Are My Matter: Writings on Life and Books
BY Ursula K LeGuin
a favorite author of mine.
ABD AND this Cool title -
Pipers at the Gates of Dawn: The Wisdom of Children's Literature
by Jonathan Cott
which title I plan to add here -
PERFECT!
AND perhaps find these titles in the Berkeley Public libraries ...
Sitting in the park by the SF Bay near the Yacht club seeing Alcatraz, and Treasure Island holding up the Bay Bridge in the distance, with its BEAUTIFUL new Mast and Rigging architecture to the east of Treasure Island, I bagpiped for a Gig in this Yacht club possibly 10 years ago about the time I was giving piping lessons to Rees Parker in Burlingame in his high school years, before he headed on to UC BERKELEY engineering, and whose Dad, Dave Parker was a Stanford Alum, from the late 1960s or early 70s , originally from Hawaii and now with his wife Business people. Good piping gig at this Yacht club... but very different from the Cuttyhunk Yacht Club to say the least.
A forest of masts in the marina is behind me ...
Heading back to the unsafe house north of Berkeley and possibly moving back into Canyon again on August 1 (Brainstorming wise, and in WUaS Monthly Business Meeting, I asked if the US Marine Corps - bring in the Marines to Canyon:):):) and the US Geological Survey (USGS) could HELP DEVELOP THE WORK WORLD UNIV AND SCH ACADEMIC MEDICAL CENTER With Warm Water Cure and Physical-Digital experiments with 6-10 species, and a WUaS Longevity Genetics'Institute up on the ridge in Canyon ...having met some folks involved in such agencies last Sunday at Buckeye hot springs, some of which is in the Flame Skimmer blog post below.
Not many hippies now in Sausalito living on House Boats that I see but I bet they're around, even with house prices going bonkers high. Someone behind the 3 Chinese women behind me on the other picnic table bench, as I face out toward the ocean of the SF Bay, said that Sausalito began with artists on boats in the 1950s and it's population has increased from 3000 - 7000 ... pretty nice little town now :)

Smartwatch with both gel Electrophoresis FOR DNA molecules, AND molecular cloning ... All connected with new molecular micro electronics' chips ... And via the web to our own Avatar Bot Electronic Medical Records and think Google Street View with TIME SLIDER for 1) AgingReversal Genetics and 2) Longevity Genetics. .. how to speed up all these processes let alone develop a feasible prototype? Design in a realistic virtual earth for chips even? (Maybe WUaS CFO and ion chemistry PhD Larry Viehland can get this done and created within the Year in WUAS collaborating with Stanford Medicine :) THESE ideas were the last Agenda item G? this morning in the World Univ and Sch Monthly Business Meeting on 7/16/22 ...
from Sat 7/16/22 open @WorldUnivAndSch
Gonna drive back across to the other side of the Bay, and not sail a catamaran which I have my eyes open for:) How is your sailboat John?

Ma, Joan, John, Sarah, Kim, PIN and Alden and Ed, and ALL,
Thanks too Pin for asking how my mother and I are doing in our last brief phone call about a week ago - and possibly from your vantage point in the federal government at Health and Human Services and regarding navigating possibly even my father's passing and everything since, with my mother 's new home and my moving back into Canyon again on August 1 newly safe (after traveling to India in 2014 - thanks to you and your parents, and after your visit to Canyon in 2017. How are you doing, Ma, my wonderful mother?
Thanks Ma I think for suggesting to "buy" the Canyon place - or saying something to this effect - on the phone yesterday as I was on the bridge between the East side of the SF BAY AREA and Marin county on the way to Mt Tamalpais exploring.
On a lark, may head to Mt Tam soon again to play my Scottish Small Pipes in Mountain Theater on Mt Tamalpais
this morning, even put on my kilt (which dates from around 1976 - thank you, Ma!:) ... since Mountain Theater is open, - and if it's open and no one is around ... and explore the quiet harmonious sound of ScottishSmallPiping in that open Air play space (with a fascinating history of musicians playing there -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cushing_Memorial_Amphitheatre ... & listen to the acoustics (different I'll bet from those in Greece and Turkey's amazing amphitheatres) ...
Upcoming 2nd ScottishSmallPiping album this autumn, this one of Piobaireachd bagpiping music called Ceol Mor, tentatively titled "Honey Piobaireachd" -
Glad too to have heard back from Cuttyhunk house friend from childhood, David Thurston in email a few days ago, and even regarding my thinking about marriage (and his too) -
"Hi Scott,
I hope you have a great time on island. Unfortunately, I have had my time for the year (I don't do well with the high-season crowds). Seems I have to find an alternative--I figure, marry well and spend July and August on her family's Maine island (sound like a plan?). LIfe is good here. Fun to hear about time with Tym.
All the best,
David"
MIT PROF OF SHAKESPEARE Diana Henderson just retweeted about Poppa Crerar a Scottish Northumberland journalist in Great Britain who was retweeting about the upcoming marriage of its outgoing Prime Minister... To what looks like a hippie woman with flowers in her hair, a garland of ... can't use Google Lens or the Seek by iNaturalist' App to identify the flowers ...
But could I meet a 27 - 25 yo American MD SOMEHOW LIKE a 'Pippa Crerar journalist in Great Britain' ... on Mt Tamalpais today even ...? Diana Henderson Tweet -
This email thread also focuses on Aging reversal genetic engineering revolution drug therapies emerging and longevity genetics questions too especially and I hope to add it to my blog post for today.
May find my way to Mt Tamalpais where there is also much opportunity to explore it's forests off trail into the wild... as I wait to learn from POSSIBLY Ed and Larry and TYM about moving back into Canyon again on August 1 newly safe (and for a song? ... on the ScottishSmallPipes?).
While I don't know if the US Marine Corps talking with the California Police department of Contra Costa county or Moraga is a good idea or not re making Canyon safe per WUaS and my Friendly calling for abolition too, in seeking to develop the World Univ and Sch Academic Medical Center with Warm Water Cure and Physical-Digital experiments and WUaS Longevity Genetics'Institute up on the ridge in Canyon, I'd think that the US Marine Corps and the US Geological Survey USGS as federal government agencies could also help build out these construction wise, field site generation wise, information technology wise and in the process transform the culture of Canyon to make it safe.
Thoughts or questions about this?
I hope you have a good Sunday and if you find your way to Forest and which is even a little wild, that you can enjoy the exploring further:)
Warm Water Cure in a physical Virtual Field Site Generator Simulacra of Harbin's warm pool Mainside area and Physical-Digital experiments with 6-10 model organisms and species ahead ...

Ma, Joan, John, Sarah, Kim, PIN and Alden and Ed, and ALL,
A wee report from the dirt back parking lot of Mountain Theater on Mt Tamalpais. Kilt on, 88F outside, only one other car and couple in the parking lot, possibly in their 70s, pulled out hiking poles each and started walking up through a Mt Tam forest.
While I found some shade to park in and couldn't find a lightweight tripod seat for Piping from in Mountain Theater on the way, at WM, there was someone in the first parking lot with 2 paintings for sale off his tailgate. An old hippie thing perhaps too ... Not much traffic up this high either on Mt Tamalpais at 2700 feet at the top
Have MacBook Air laptop with me and may seek to record video of the Desperate Battle of the Birds" Piobaireachd with a view of the Pacific or SF in the Mountain Theater if it works out.
Have had enough LTE internet signal on Google Pixel 3A Android smartphone to write this, but it just cut out when I tried to surf the web for the blog's bagpiping label:)
Happy forests to you:)

Scott

Ma, Joan, John, Sarah, Kim, PIN and Alden and Ed, and ALL,
Greetings, All!,
Texted my mother this afternoon -
Hi Ma from Mountain Theater on Mt Tamalpais... Just played The Desperate Battle of the Birds from the main stage. The doubling of the 2nd variation made me so sad ... as if birds were falling in battle, an evolutionary biology battle ... Capercaillies possibly? Played the Crunluath and Crunluath a Mach movements and doublings ... In the full sun at about 3:45 pm Pacific:... Standing up... May explore recording all 12 possible Piobaireachd pieces in November here ... Possibly with someone on a video camera... Could a photo like above be part of this? May try to get a shot of my kilt too ... Not so easy with a smartphone... One woman in a leotard black walked through the stone seats just as I arrived, and another 2 people walking around together with hiking sticks too walked through in the middle of the Urlar or ground I think... I was standing in the center of the amphitheatre playing and they didn't stop ... Good social dynamic given it's an experiment and I have perfectionist issues especially when I perceive people are listening (critically) to me playing my bagpipes or piano or similar... Could this be the site of my 3rd ScottishSmallPiping album too while playing with a machine learning approach for playing Piobaireachd, jamming especially, on the Scottish Small Pipes with the Allman brothers in Cow Palace in 1973 energy-wise especially ... https://youtu.be/DNAmXz8kc6I (which is in the key of A mixolydian around 2 hours and 30 minutes, before and after, and works with the Scottish small pipes' 9 note scale a bit at present)... So too in learning to jam? Many great rock bands played here, but I'm not sure if the Allman brothers did... Great Rock and Roll energy of yesteryear in the air in Mountain Theater on Mt Tam in the Forest:)
I was amused that after I finished bagpiping in Mountain Theater, the 24 hour period for Stanford Mine Pi mining brought up the time to mine Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency free money daily, (and 'To claim your Pi, follow this link
https://minepi.com/sgkmac and use my username (sgkmac) as your invitation code, which, because I newly had internet access, I was able to mine. I was reminded of the phrase 'Pay yourself first" - and that Stanford Mine Pi is a 'trip' in these regards, because its algorithms are going up second by second, and it appears to be an infinite approach to generating, and for us to get, an unlimited infinite money or cryptocurrency. So I mined it and got another 3-8 Pi coins, in the reliable Pi App on my smartphone (but with which I don't seem yet to be able to buy anything with).
Regarding Mt. Tamalpais, and recording this Piobaireachd album in November, I think this Mountain Theater could be a great place to explore doing so further :)
Fondly, Scott
