What would Hippy-anjali write down and sing as key yoga code for the next 3 millennia, coming into conversation with old fat-and-jolly as Yogini Angela Farmer has called Patanjali (of the Yoga sutras) ... I wonder? :)

Hippy-anjali Yoga Notations
(conversing with Yoga Sutras of Patanjali)

Yoga is the inner releasing action {relaxation response} of the bodymind/brain for we human primates

~ Practice Angela and Victor Yoga bodymind explorations including inner movements playfully ~ http://www.angela-victor.com {which will hopefully move online with interactive yoga avatarbots beyond videos} ~ "Feminine Unfolding" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soA-PHxcgbI ~

~ Learn these inner releasing actions

~ Care with compassion, and enjoyably travel to hot springs for meditation in the warm pools
{I'm thinking meditating in the warm pool Harbin Hot Springs here}
or meditate at home in your bath tub, and find benefit in daily travel

~ There's much scientific evidence for the health benefits, in general, of a low-fat, natural foods diet (e.g. 5-9 servings of fruits, grains, vegetables and legumes per day), as well as 30 minutes of daily movement, some vigorous like dancing.

2 positive observances

Yoga bodymind explorations including inner movements

4 breathing ~ Mmmmm feels so good (Angela-wise) ~ explore

5 come home inside into your bodymind at times

6 focus in releasing ways to connect in a kind of oneness in neurophysiology
(and re Csikszentmihalyi's "Flow" experience)

connectedness and "it's just happening"

8 bring it on home ~ oneness

1

  • Nonharming (eating roadkill, for example, would be a kind of ecological recycling, and prevention of waste)
  • Truth
  • Non-stealing
  • Hippy human primate yogis as potentially free Bonobo chimpanzees don't deny their sexuality, but non harming and care can be and are significant balances for sexuality that damages; have kids if you like, and raise good families
  • Adhibit (engage), troop bond and pair bond with grace and ecological balance with others (re John Money's "Concepts of Determinism" ~ http://scottmacleod.com/anthropology/determinism.htm)

2

  • Attune yourself through daily exploration of an inner releasing action {relaxation response} as a kind of inner bodymind house cleansing
  • Contentment neurophysiology brain-wise can be facilitated with the harmonizing effect of omega-3 fatty acids (flax seed oil capsules 7-10 per day)
  • Simplicity in Friendly / Quaker / non theistic f/Friendly senses is great
  • Cultivate consciousness of your own neurophysiology and actions, and conversation in these regards with a psychotherapist if this would be helpful
  • Bond with your group and your partner(s); lie on your back for the relaxation response daily, and if this emerges as a kind of inner attuning devotion, great

Non-theistically friendly yoga is good ... appreciating friendliness here ...

Care with compassion, and enjoyably travel to hot springs for meditation in the warm pools, and especially for positive serene nudity and eroticism, such as at Harbin Hot Springs ...

Cultivate oneness, connectedness, community, communitas, freedom, care, love and flourishing ... as well as music and art in beautiful nature ...

We'll probably have to write the music with which to sing something like this. :)

And here's Georg Feuerstein himself in a "Origins of Yoga" video with Swami Vidyanand Swarooop Brahmachari ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua17Cw75uas
(which I found here - http://www.itsallyogababy.com/georg-feuerstein-1947-2012-on-the-missing-link-in-western-yoga/)

*
Feuerstein:
"There always have been renouncers, people, men and women, who left the householder stage, who, really, abandoned the conventional life and they wander around the mountains and in the forests ... those who dropped out and lived a life of ecstasy at the margins of society as many sadhus or yogis do now"

Swami:
"My whole life is devoted to seeking oneness with God"

Feuerstein:
The difference between the Yogi and there ordinary person is that the Yogi takes full responsibility for the wholeness of the human being including the spiritual dimension ...

Narrator:
It is a sacred science ...

Narrator:
Yoga means to join, yoke, to link with the divine ... we leave the world to do this (3:00). We give up everything.

Feuerstein:
My whole work over the last 30 years ... has been talking about the missing link in western Yoga ... and what was eliminated was the core of the Yogic tradition to make Yoga palatable to western audiences. And that core is a spiritual core. It's really the very essence of Yoga in terms of our path to inner freedom, inner peace, happiness.

Sadhu:
translation: "By leaving society, the Yogi surrenders entirely to God ... he is protected and sheltered"

*
I depart from this Indian Yogic perspective somewhat extensively, as you can see above in the - Hippy-anjali Yoga Notations - but also sympathize with Feuerstein's language and interpretation from what I'll call a "western" perspective ... since, for example, hippy Yogis often of western background traveled in the east (e.g. they may have gone to India in the '60s and '70s), were also drop outs interested in the wholeness of life.

What I learn from this video, and as an anthropologist, is the cultural relatively of who's speaking about yogi and where they're from, and where they're coming from in interpreting this - and the power of cultural memes in informing and embodying human beings.

I also appreciate the Indians in this video, and who made this video, however, thinking through what westerners, for example, might learn from them about yoga, and in terms of the origins of Yoga.

On with Angela and Victor's Yoga ... :))

Problems with Patanjali's Yoga sutras, as I see them ?

See, too -

Great apes: As human primates, I think yoga, particularly yogasana (e.g. yoga poses), has much value for navigating not only the evolutionary biological history of our hominid bodyminds in terms of socioculture, but also learning about our hominid neurophysiologies in terms of critical thinking from a place of health and ease (which yoga generates), Ahimsa - Nonviolence - Pacifism - To avoid harming, Bonobo chimpanzee, Ecology, Evolution, Evolutionary biology, Modernity, Primatology, Theories of Learning, Yoga
