And tax deadlines, even in high tax Massachusetts, have been postponed until July 15 .... and will we live to 125 years of age or older (you know the saying about death and taxes, n'est-ce pas?) in a related vein? :)

Thanks for the message you sent this afternoon.  Sounds like you were on a beautiful walk and found lots of other like-minded souls doing the same thing.

Another day here: weather got better as the day went on.  Drove into Pgh. and had a chilly picnic lunch with Kathie Logan on a  table in Frick park.  By sitting at either end of the table and on opposite sides, we achieved 6’ of distance. Saw Maryann, my real estate person, who was also walking in the park.  She reminded me how lucky I was to sell when I did;  she said the market is completely flat for house sales, and even after she sold one recently, the inspectors were not allowed in; therefore the sale of that house is in limbo.  She also told me that the Ayoobs -- house just beyond the Epple’s -- had looked at Frances’ house but Gina decided it would require too much work.

Kathie and I walked about a mile in the park and then I headed home with a drive by of 319 Juniata Court.  It looks empty and forlorn.  I couldn’t tell if the new owners had moved in or not. So glad I don’t have to worry about that wet basement any more.

Did some weeding in my garden here.  I think those of us who have garden areas to work are very lucky.  Safe place to be and fun to grow things - practical too.

Your new home sounds super! (Message I sent this afternoon is below as well). Just got a parsley start recently to begin my garden in a box again, - and may try to fence it in in far corner or porch, with picnic table on its side as 3rd barrier, and then figure out a 4th side. What kind of critters got my veggies last year? And I don't want to invest too much gardening time and energy for when I'm away on Cuttyhunk! More later.

Thanks too for the news of your neighbors and 319 Juniata Court, Pittsburgh, PA 15208 (the house I lived in in my high school years from 1974-1979). Perhaps it is mentioning your neighbors and 319 that are new (and mentioning something from my email to you!) - and their ongoing connection and neighborliness into the future. Are we making progress? Too bad 319 looked forlorn - your daily thinking about it made it beautiful, - and now your new home is beautiful. Yay!

Am glad in this time of "national emergency" that the race to build armaments doesn't seem to be occurring in order to keep the economy going, for example. t imitation was funny in many ways, - and was skillful satire too in a sense (imitator reminded me of someone who could be a Larry V relative even). And t is now considering quarantining/locking down all of NY - what is going on, and if this is primarily a question of memes (words such as coronavirus ), and not gene replication? ... And all this regarding Brookline, Cambridge, Boston thinking?

Am hoping again that the coronavirus meme is a fire drill, and in case of emergency, but wondering too how it could very very significantly lessen sex offs and perps, and lessen making victims of kids (and re my email to you, Caleb and Brig re the SF Quaker Meeting and 'factories' even, very loosely and on a very small scale speculatively??? :(( ), for example ... and in the long run, society-wise especially! There seems to be a window of opportunity for a culture of transformation in some of these regards, but not sure what the thinking would be. California law and culture ??? Too many scofflaws or outlaws, or harmers perhaps?, but CA isn't also following the Nevada route that I know of, but I do wonder what about illegalities that happen under the radar here in CA, and how that is 'policed' as well, for example. Could this national emergency" also be a social justice policing opportunity even. For example, in Massachusetts, legalized recreational cannabis stores have to close, but medicinal marijuana stores can remain open. ... interesting regarding distinctions in policing and law etc. See:
