… wonder how I or one might ENTER INTO ANY FILM in a 3D interactive movie realistic VIRTUAL WORLD way in the Oculus Rift digital goggles or similar, for example, and via a developing Minecraft/WoW/OpenSim/SL/Google Earth …

Some ideas for this:

- first MAP any film into an avatar script in a 3D virtual world

- then add one’s own avatar into the mapped 3D virtual world film and let friends do so too …

- then develop avatar agency for avatars from film … so like historical re-enactors, at Plimoth Plantation (http://www.plimoth.org/in Massachusetts, acting out the 17th century, for example, the film's avatars could speak within the parameters of the film, and its context … much like Second Life avatars can be scripted to dance; so explore parallel scripting for dialogue

In what ways can we change reality, and both in the milieu of our friends (and our friends as a kind of culture), with what we say, for example, and in the milieu of Ffriends (including nontheists) and also sitting in silence or meditation in a Quaker Meeting, {and especially for goodness}?

Just as Yo-yo Ma {e.g. playing J.S. Bach} and Jerry Garcia, and the Grateful Dead, remarkably change reality through the series and length, or note duration, even of tones they generate, and their improvisations, that actually change objective reality (i.e. the sound waves they produce change measurable world) and also the world of meaning and beauty and joy and loving bliss for the listeners who are moved by and love their music.

In what ways can, and does, the generation of language similarly generate reality-changes in new and novel ways? And among Friends?

Such reality changing has a long history, as do the effects of language; once understood as such, how is it possible to creatively change reality in new and far reaching ways and in exploratory ways even (and post 1960s too)?

It seems we can change reality in many ways ... and especially with music for happiness, for example.

I think World University and School - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - will help people do this in new and novel wiki ways, and in all languages, as well.

Hi Ffriends,

I'm emailing you to reach out about exploring / creating a kind of Friendly-informed World University and School hive at San Francisco Friends Meeting as a meeting space during the week, and seek to generate a community of Ffriends interested in creating an online free CC Friendly-informed MIT OCW-centric World University and School fellowship and organization, which could turn into many volunteer and paid jobs eventually ...

... and with a 10 minute Quaker Meeting to precede the WUaS meeting space day, perhaps at 8:40 or 8:45 am.

This Monday, 8/25, and Thursday, 8/28, from 8:40 to noon as first experiments, I'll be at the House at SFFM (65 Ninth Street, between Market St. and Mission) working on developing WUaS and welcoming Friends who wish to stop in and explore what's happening, volunteer, help organize and grow Quaker-influenced WUaS. Students often love going to Quaker schools, such as San Francisco Friends School, and we can create such a milieu with WUaS online.

Come to Meeting, come check out the creative academic and school-building projects ahead, come help grow this Friendly wiki MIT OCW-centric accrediting World University and School.

Looking forward to seeing you this Monday or Thursday at the Meeting House as beehive.

Friendly regards,
Scott

Donald,

As I was walking to BART yesterday morning before 8 thru the beautiful Claremont part of Berkeley to 'meet' at the new World University and School 'hive' at SFFM, it occurred to me that I'd love to play music 3 nights a week for 2 hours each in different musical groups for bliss generation and for growing fun explicitly as a fascinating form of communication {in what ways will become possible in online music playing spaces in real, real time from home - e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX79AzS-c4Q and http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2012/06/bilva-music-playing-spaces-online-and.html although I'd prefer doing this in person}, and the other 3-4 nights a week dancing for health and connecting benefits, ... but then I didn't play/practice the piano the evening before (old issues with practicing for me? ... while recognizing I'll get good by enjoyably playing at home for extended periods of time regularly), but did play the bagpipe (as I am daily). I appreciate much our meeting on Saturday for related musical explorations, as well as our listening to one another in a variety of ways.

Had a fairly productive time in this 'meeting space' yesterday at the new WUaS 'hive' at SFFM in Room 5, which is already a school in many ways as a kids space on Sundays.

And World University and School has added these CC MIT OCW to the following tow wiki subject pages:

Physics: http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Physics

Quantum Physics: http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Quantum_Physics

*

As WUaS accredits, these will be remarkable opportunities for matriculated students at WUaS, and eventually in many large languages, and for WUaS to study how students learn physics inter-lingually even.

*

While the above just released Physics' courses in video are only in English, the first course "Physics I: Classical Mechanics" from 2006 was released with a translation into Turkish.

*

And I think MIT OCW will continue to release great courses all in video.

Agriculture, species and global warming: Yale Forestry, Yale OYC?, and WUaS conversation, Global Warming and mass Plantings of broad-leafed plants, Forests and Soybeans(?) ...

KD,

It was great to talk with you today, thank you, and greetings from San Francisco.

JM, an old friend, and Harvard College and Stanford Law graduate, who has been in touch with you at the Yale School of Forestry about carbon control, I think, suggested I contact you initially.

I'm currently developing wiki MIT OCW-centric World University and School, with planned online accrediting-on-MIT-OCW university degrees in many large languages (based on MIT OCW video courses, for example - http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/), and in most 242 countries, as one wing. And WUaS is planning open wiki schools in all 7,106 languages as its other wing, - where anyone can begin a subject e.g. http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Subjects or edit or add to one, for example, by teaching to their web camera (think Sal Khan, for example, teaching to his young cousin via web camera). Here's WUaS's beginning Business Plan -
http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Business_Plan - which you mentioned an interest in seeing.

After talking with JM, whom I’m copying in this email, my initial impetus to contact you was with an interest, for example, in how planting flora en masse, such as forests - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Forestry - or broad-leafed soybeans even, might be able to absorb CO2 significantly and thus limit and even reverse global warming. Here, for example, is WUaS's "Ocean and Climate Management Plan" wiki page (currently only in English) -
http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Ocean_%26_Climate_Management_Plan - and which shares links with the Forestry wiki subject, and where such knowledge generation on both pages can grow. Could you possibly please point me to a scientific literature about this, or to a faculty member, or to a Yale Forestry course with some open resources, by any chance, which I might then add to the Forestry wiki subject at WUaS?

As we spoke about on the phone, while there may be multiple Yale Forestry / WUaS Forestry collaborative possibilities, WUaS's Creative Commons' licensing focus leads us to look first to open CC licensed resources such as at Yale OYC - http://oyc.yale.edu/ - at which I haven't found any forestry courses yet. If, for example, the Yale School of Forestry might eventually decide to contribute courseware to Yale OYC, WUaS could see remarkable opportunities for collaboration, - and WUaS would also get the word out about Yale Forestry in a new way on the WUaS site, for example. While WUaS's' undergraduate and graduate school majors will probably center on these courses and majors -
http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/audio-video-courses/ - for planning purposes, there are a great many other collaborative possibilities which could be great for Yale Forestry / WUaS Forestry to remain in conversation about over the years. For example, there are rapid planting planning possibilities that WUaS could dovetail with our plans to be in all 7,106 languages and 242 countries online, with related databases, in a way that might address solutions to human-produced CO2 generation that Yale Forestry might not focus on.

Thank you again and nice to be in communication.

Sincerely,
Scott

4. EFFECTS ON PLANTS, SOIL, PESTS AND DISEASES

There are three ways in which the Greenhouse Effect may be important for agriculture. First, increased atmospheric CO2 concentrations can have a direct effect on the growth rate of crop plants and weeds. Secondly, CO2-induced changes of climate may alter levels of temperature, rainfall and sunshine that can influence plant and animal productivity. Finally, rises in sea level may lead to loss of farmland by inundation and to increasing salinity of groundwater in coastal areas. These three types of impact will be considered in turn.

Donald,

Were there marginal, druggy, unmatriculated Stanford hippies, who were very, very far "out there"? ... not you, of course ... What do the Stanford film archives hold from these days in particular I wonder? ... could be a particularly interesting exploration in a variety of ways ...

Ah, California, and northern California, in particular ... but hippies were all over ... so many in the British Isles, for example, I would add ... O, the 1960s and '70s ... There's certain freedom in life explorations to the whole hippy trip  ...

Hippies are not necessarily easy to define or thingify ... or categorize ... certain questioning of all that as well as freedom in explorations in all kinds of being ... and QMeeting frees things up in this regard, reality-wise {a de facto relaxation response meditation, ... and, in these regards, everybody is on there own trip anyway, - I've heard it said at Harbin}, as well as categorizing-wise ... Harbin warm pool too ...

Hope to be heading to Stanford in the autumn for Anthro and Law and Philosophy talks and music ... as well as vis-a-vis Friendly informed CC MIT OCW-centric accrediting World University and School ... :)

I'm glad to say WUaS has use of meeting space in downtown San Francisco at the Quaker Meeting/AFSC offices near Civic Center/UN Plaza 2 days a week, generally in the mornings from 8:30 - noon on Mondays and Thursdays, but sometimes in the afternoons on those days as well as a start, at least through September, and probably through the New Year, as a work and meeting space for startup Friendly-informed World University and School.

I'd like this to grow into the beginnings of a flourishing physical meeting space for interns etc. with time, with other interns all around the world, as WUaS gradually grows.

Complex root systems: MIT Technology Review - "Evidence Grows That Online Social Networks Have Insidious Negative Effects," Comparably or comparatively to TV watching, say pre-GUI internet in the 1980s, or even with book reading? P and AoIR friends,

Thanks for this:

"Social Networks Diminish Personal Well-Being, Researchers Say"
http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/social_networks_diminish_personal_wellness_researchers_say_20140830

Here's the actual MIT Technology Review article about this study referred to in the above article:

"Evidence Grows That Online Social Networks Have Insidious Negative Effects: A study of 50,000 people in Italy concludes that online social networks have a significant negative impact on individual welfare."
http://www.technologyreview.com/view/530401/evidence-grows-that-online-social-networks-have-insidious-negative-effects/

In its comments' section in the MIT Technology Review, I asked:

Are there any comparable or comparative studies asking similar questions concerning TV watching, say pre-Graphical User Interface (GUI) internet in the 1980s, or even concerning book reading, on subjective well being, both of which might be similarly isolating? ...  It seems like any hypothetical comparative studies might examine and emphasize the increase in the sociality in Italy thanks to social media relative to TV watching or book reading. And now with emergent Google + group video Hangouts and Adobe Connect, etc. and face-to-face sociality will re-emerge in new ways, generating data for important studies ahead. Professor Manuel Castells ("The Rise of the Network Society") casts these questions in different contexts, sociologically, and concludes from the sociological studies of the internet on alienation and sociality from the 1990s that, in the aggregate, social media increased sociality, - but he didn't examine rigorous sociological studies of self-reported well being. Thanks for this study.

Hi Ffriends,

I hope you're having a good weekend.

Quaker World University and School can use meeting space in the AFSC offices in SF as a hive this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the mornings, I'm glad to say. :) And I'm so glad this way is opening.

I've begun to invite friends to come to meet on 9th Street and to volunteer at WUaS with the anticipation that WUaS will begin to be able to hire interns.

I'd also like and am praying for WUaS to begin to raise monies to pay beginning BPPE and WASC senior accreditation fees, plus other costs, and also to pay other beginning wages.

Tomorrow after the WUaS hive, on Tuesday 9/2, Professor Radhika Rao is giving a talk "Selective Reduction: "A Soft Cover for Hard Choices?"" at our neighboring University (UC Hastings Law School / UCSF) (http://events.uchastings.edu/EventList.aspx?fromdate=9/2/2014&todate=9/2/2014&display=Day&type=public&eventidn=1498&view=EventDetails&information_id=3925) - and with which Universities WUaS would like to collaborate over the decades ahead. Radhika was in Obama's Harvard Law class, she's great (she has vision and is a good speaker), and there's also a free lunch, if you'd like to attend together, - after meeting at SFFM in the hive that morning.

I'm excited that the law schools at Quaker World University and School, planned first in English, then in the United Nations' languages, then in large languages, and accredited in many of the countries in which those large languages are located, would be based out of the SFFM/AFSC Quaker Meeting ... Quaker WUaS law school in Chinese, and Spanish, and French, and Russian, and Arabic, and Hindi and ... if at all possible.

When I met with a vice president of WASC senior about 2 years ago concerning accrediting WUaS for bachelor, Ph.D., law, and M.D. degrees (but not I.B. high school diplomas with WASC), he mentioned that WASC senior had just accredited UC Hastings Law School at the Ph.D. level. And there are at least 12 accredited online law schools in California - see Brian Burnsed's 2012 US News and World Report article about this here in the beginning Quaker World University Law School (presently only in English) - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University_Law_School#World_University_and_School_Links

Quaker MIT OCW-centric WUaS would like to become the online Harvard / MIT / Swarthmore / Haverford / Oxbridge of the Internet, and in all languages and countries, while facilitating Ffriendly open Wiki (editable web pages) schools in all 7,106 languages and 242 countries.

Quaker Meeting at SFFM will meet this Tuesday, 9/2, at 8:45 am and on Thursday, 9/4, for ten minutes or so before each WUaS hive.

Looking forward to meeting with you tomorrow.

Friendly regards,
Scott

Great, Amy, and AoIRs,

In what ways can MIT OCW-centric World University and School's Twitter - https://twitter.com/WorldUnivandSch - come into a Twitter conversation with HASTS? WUAS is planning STEM-centric accredited online CC degrees in large languages and in most countries, accrediting on these for example -

In his recent book, The Soul of Anime: Collaborative Creativity and Japan’s Media Success Story (2013, Duke University Press), he argues that the practices of "collaborative creativity" that we see in the global success of Japanese animation offer a model for understanding how media and culture are changing in the twenty-first century. He is also the author of Hip-Hop Japan: Rap and the Paths of Cultural Globalization (2006, Duke University Press), which was translated into Japanese and published as Nihon no Hip-Hop (2009, NTT Publications). The book explores ethnographically how hip-hop took root and developed in Japan, with a focus on Japanese musicians and their fans, including fieldwork in Tokyo nightclubs and recording studios. Overall, he is interested in "globalization from below," that is, how cultural movements spread transnationally without little push from corporations and governments.

California Black Oak (Quercus kelloggii): Called Harbin about photo permissions for my actual / virtual Harbin ethnographic manuscript, how best to generate Harbin photos for my ethnographic book of actual Harbin

$

Dear friends of my actual / virtual Harbin ethnographic book publishing planning and project,

I recently called Harbin about photo permissions for my actual / virtual Harbin ethnographic book; I had sent Harbin my 415 page manuscript on May 22 per their request. Harbin said they had decided that I wouldn't be able to use Harbin photos from their web site - http://www.harbin.org/ - or take them on my own.

I may now try:

- to draw some on my own,

- think of other ways to generate astounding images for my book,

- plan for making an interactive movie realistic virtual Harbin (hopefully part of a virtual earth) for my second Harbin book and actual / virtual Harbin ethnographic comparison, possibly without access to Harbin for videography for this,

- begin to contact Yale UP, as well as

- bring the manuscript to completion editing-wise.

Very glad to have learned this.

I'd welcome your thoughts about how best to generate Harbin photos or images for my ethnographic manuscript of actual Harbin.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Scott

Hi Donald,

Hmmm ... thanks, and for your understanding. And now for something completely different ...

I cleaned my whole house fairly thoroughly on Monday night, which is very nice, - and I greatly appreciate its orderliness, as well (still a little more paper pushing ahead though:) - but as I thought about my house this morning getting just a little dirtier day by day, I wondered too about neurophysiology eliciting loving bliss as a more enjoyable main focus of (my and others') consciousness (in relation to thinking about my clean house getting minutely dirtier day by day). Why not focus, I was asking myself, on generating the biology of loving bliss in far-reaching ways and in all its unfolding, possibly infinite qualities, instead of thinking about a clean little 2 room house getting dirtier? :)

How to measure such bliss eliciting neurobiology, scientifically and creatively, such that the actual analysis leads to further loving bliss neurophysiology eliciting, and for 4-9 hours a day? Again, loving bliss bodymind biology, as I think of it, are some of the best experiences in life (if one were asking for a philosophical justification, or about necessary and sufficient queries/statements, even - "In logic, necessity and sufficiency are implicational relationships between statements"). Why does one's/my focus move to my un-cleaning house, rather than on turning on the grateful dead, or raga, or going to talk/play with the thinkers and researchers and musicians - with conversants - who may already be riffing musically, and scientifically, about this (and in fFriendly ways), such that everybody generates this qualities of l.b. biology mind again and again and in extended ways and for long flows, time-wise, of neural cascades of pleasure, in the day.

So I write this to you, to heighten awareness (mine) - by writing and thus focusing - and to make these questions explicit, and to further explore them in a new way? Does this writing lead to loving bliss generation in the here and now? I'm just turning on a raga - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCJkjhNmsoI.  Not immediately, but it may in the long term and alluvial delta to ocean of this thinking :) Does writing this to you lead to new musical scores, metaphorically, for this? Perhaps not or perhaps in the future.

Talk with you soon.

Cheers,
Scott

Dear Bill,

Great, and thank you! And fascinating. It was very nice to meet you as well.

Briefly, here's the beginning of the Law School at World University and School (in English) and some of its main links, including beginning law schools in other countries (and planned all online, and for main languages in all countries) - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University_Law_School#World_University_and_School_Links.

Much ahead to do this evening, so more later.

Best wishes,
Scott

Hi Bill,

I'm enjoying reading your 1975 paper, and especially its, what I would call, 1970's informed analysis/critical stance.

I hope World University and School on both its degree side (planning free, CC, MIT OCW-centric bachelor, Ph.D., law and M.D. degrees, and I.B. diploma in UN/many large languages), and on its wiki side (planned as open online schools for people-to-people teaching in all 7,106+ languages) will engage the "The Four Functions of Traditional University Systems" you mentioned - "Impartation of Information, Accreditation, Coercion, Club Membership" - innovatively.

Would you like to meet for a coffee sometime next week to talk further about related questions.

With gratitude,
Scott

"For many years universities organized along traditional lines have almost totally dominated higher education. Until recently the universities' power could be justified because no other means of purveying higher education was technically feasible. Improvements in communications technology, however, have made possible the development of degree-granting programs, often called "open universities," that are no longer tied to the inflexible curriculum or expensive facilities and programs of conventional universities. It is the thesis of this Article that the current structure of the university system has retarded this development and that an antitrust attack on the monopolistic practices of private universities is feasible and should be successful." (Wang 1975)

Dear Bill,

What a nice invitation and thank you! It would be delightful to meet you either for lunch and / or afterward in your office on Friday, September 12th. But I hope it won't interfere with your sabbatical and your other projects.

I've added a reference to your 1975 paper -

to the "Education" wiki subject page at WUaS - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Education#World_University_and_School_Links. I'm curious about your thoughts too about the related WUaS wiki subject page links on this page.

Thank you again!

Best wishes,

Dear Bill,

I look forward to seeing you again soon as well, and thank you again.

Best wishes,
Scott

Dear Ja, and other individual WUaS Board Members,

Very nice to speak with you the other evening about Guidestar's Silver Level and about WUaS financial and related questions. I'm glad to say World University and School just achieved the Guidestar Silver designation last evening - https://www.guidestar.org/organizations/27-3105368/world-university-school.aspx. On with the WUaS Gold Level.

I'm writing to formalize the WUaS Board process as startup World University and School continues to develop. I'd like to talk with you in person about this, if possible please, but preferably in Skype over phone, if we can't meet in person.

WUaS is developing our job description for Board members. The main functions of Board members are 1) to set policy, 2) hire/fire an executive director, and 3) to raise money (give or get).

I'd like to talk with you this week about this, if possible please, before the WUaS monthly business board meeting (on this Saturday 9/13 - agenda will be here - http://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/), and follow up again before the annual meeting on the 2nd Saturday of October (10/11).

As a WUaS Board Member, I'd also like to ask you please to ask two friends to donate $10 to World University and School, explaining World University and School a little to your friends first, and then also ask you to donate $10 yourself, as a model for them, by clicking on the PayPal button, for example, here - http://worlduniversityandschool.org.

While WUaS expects Board members to participate in all 12 monthly business board meetings, in formalizing WUaS Board membership, WUaS will continue to record presence at monthly business board meetings, and if you don't attend a certain number of these, WUaS will ask you to leave the Board, or ask you to move to a WUaS Advisory Board -
http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University_Foundation.

If I don't hear from you, or if you aren't interested in being on the WUaS Board as we grow, or if we can't meet in person or on Skype, WUaS's nominating committee in monthly  business board meeting will also ask you to leave the Board, or ask you to move to a WUaS Advisory Board.

Thank you very much thus far for your contributions to the WUaS Board in these early startup phases.

What's your Skype and what are some good times to talk, preferably in person? Looking forward to our further conversation about growing WUaS. And thank you!

Friendly regards,
Scott

Skype: scottm100

Dear La,

...

Thank you very much for participating as a board member in nearly 12 monthly business board meetings annually for years now. As seen in the Minutes, WUaS will continue to record presence at monthly business board meetings – and significantly to recognize your WUaS service and presence.

Thank you very much thus far, too, for your great contributions to the WUaS Board in these early startup phases. Your contributions as a Board Member have been, far and away, the most significant to WUaS’s development, for which I, and WUaS, are very grateful.

What’s your Skype address for future reference?

Looking forward to our further conversation about growing WUaS. And thank you!

Gratefully,
Scott

Hi

Jim, Diane and Cathleen,

By way of introduction, I'm emailing mostly Director of IBM Global University Jim Spohrer here in preparation for our conversation later this afternoon, but want to include you both, Diane and Cathleen, in this email, to give you an idea of some possibilities I would like explore vis-a-vis the IBM Impact Grant brochure you sent, and in a way, also to create the possible beginnings of an IBM / startup World University and School team for subsequent developing collaborations. (I'll email you both separately and specifically vis-a-vis the IBM Impacts Grant brochure later, which I'm attaching re Jim).

I'm still learning how our communications may lead to further IBM/WUaS developments, but I'm also interested in exploring, organizationally, how WUaS might staff all of what's below and more, with respect to possible engagement with IBM Ph.D.s, but also especially with respect to possible IBM project managers and similar vis-a-vis IBM Impact Grants, if this might at all please be possible. While there may be a lot below, IBM's 426,000 employees worldwide (http://www.slideshare.net/spohrer/strategies-for-psm-funding-20121109-v1) seems like it might be able to engage some of this.

Jim, Diane and Cathleen: the SUBJECT TEMPLATE is central to WUaS - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE#Digital_To_Do - and all of these WUaS Digital To Do's will create a lot of interesting scientific and STEM innovation possibilities, for example - but please check out the whole wiki page, since it informs all pages at MIT OCW-centric WUaS thus far, and especially as we make the transition from the current Wikia wiki to the planned Wikidata/Wikibase interlingual wiki.

In preparation for conversation with you as an innovating computer scientist with a focus on IBM Global University and knowledge of multiple online university projects around the world, a few information technological items come initially to my mind about where WUaS would like to head, but doesn't yet have the resources to do so, and which you could possibly help with, or suggest innovative ways with which to proceed, and which might also articulate with a variety of IBM projects:

- begin WUaS in MediaWiki / qLabel / Wikidata / Wikibase / SemanticWiki, accessing Wikicommons in the process ... potentially in 3 or 4 languages to begin ... possibly En / Es / De (which I speak some) and Hindi together? Are you on the wikidata-l, wikitech-l and semanticwiki email lists by chance? see for access to these lists - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2014/08/california-tiger-salamander-wuas-in.html.

which would then inform

- begin together the inter-lingual MIT OCW-centric schools in large languages anticipating how WUaS will STUDY how students learn in exchange for free MIT OCW-centric degrees, and for WUaS to show to prospective students around the world, and help staff it with WUaS/IBM developers ...

- begin together the universal translator in Wikidata

- begin the "You at WUaS" site for student registration, matriculation, the WUaS all-languages/all-instruments music school, social networking site

- begin together the inter-lingual wiki Music School

- begin together the inter-lingual Medical School

- Structure WUaS in Wikidata for a wide variety of multi-lingual scientific MIT OCW-centric research projects

- "Information Technologies and Data Plan" wiki main page at WUaS -

- Master Plan wiki page at WUaS ...

- Would you, Jim, Diane, or Cathleen, be available to explore joining the WUaS Board?

Jim, startup CC MIT OCW-centric WUaS is also seeking to develop all of this entrepreneurially (see WUaS's business plan here - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Business_Plan#World_University_and_School_Links), especially in WUaS's need for financial resources, and also in developing an IT strategy, - and in order to grow steadily and somewhat rapidly as wiki schools for people to people open teaching and learning in Google + group video Hangouts, for example, in all 7,106 languages and 242+ countries, and would greatly welcome you ideas for this especially.

Thank you and looking forward to talking with you soon.

All the best,

Scott

Hi Cathleen, Diane and Jim,

There are many potentially very helpful offerings in the IBM Impact Grants' brochure - https://www.ibm.com/ibm/responsibility/initiatives/citizenship.shtml - you sent, which would be great to talk about vis-a-vis the email I just sent to you and Director of IBM Global University. As I look through the brochure, I see - in each of its categories - the following as being particularly germane:

- Capacity Building

Project Management

- Strategic Growth

Strategic Planning

- Business Analytics

Startup Development Analytics (which I don't see here, but could relate to kinds of "Predictive Analytics" and "Brand Analysis in the Social Web," which I do see in the brochure).

In terms of staffing WUaS's Academic Subjects - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Subjects - in particular, and for students applying to (next autumn 2015), and matriculating at, accrediting MIT OCW-centric WUaS (which I mentioned in my email earlier today), WUaS is particularly interested in hiring, even starting now, graduate students (and also possibly undergraduate students) from great universities, such as MIT and Harvard and Yale (and Stanford ... and hopefully also from this wiki list of great universities at WUaS - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Courses#University_course_listings - worldwide).

I noticed, too, Cathleen that you seem to be based in the Boston Area, and it could be great to talk specifically about reaching out to such students with these job opportunities in terms of project management and strategic planning. (I'm including Jim in this email because some of these student interns - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/WUaS_Intern_positions#World_University_and_School_Links- might be great developers as WUaS moves from Wikia to Wikidata/Wikibase). Such student interns might be particularly skilled in developing, by learning by doing, their own skills in - academic software development, big data, enterprise architecture, business intelligence and academic business strategy - in conjunction with the courses they're concurrently taking.

Thank you, looking forward to talking with you soon, and I await your ideas about how best to proceed with the above possibilities, - and about the best times to talk about these possibilities.

Best,

Scott

Dear S,

Thanks so much for this heart-centric sharing approach to connecting ... and sharing an offering collectively. And thanks for a wonderful example from M, as well as his inspiring teachings on Youtube (which I found and may add to WUaS). I wanted to send you my one word and one sentence to learn your thoughts about this process before continuing.

1 word: Love

1 sentence: Sharing love -

here are my definitions of love ...

through free online MIT OCW-centric WIKI (editable web pages - like Wikipedia) schools in all 7,106 languages and 242 countries, and with free online accredited university degrees in many languages,

accrediting on MIT OCW in video - http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/audio-video-courses/ ...
and its translated courses ... http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/ -

and also including the possibility to create OPEN subjects about anything we would like to teach about, but specifically also about greatest aspects of love - e.g. http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Loving_Bliss_(eliciting_this_neurophysiology)#World_University_and_School_Links - will benefit amazingly so many people via open sharing of ideas, and related conversation - and where anyone can teach to their web camera about what they love.

WUaS is in great need of financial resources and if at all possible, I'd like the paragraph and page to open the way to this.

Thank you!

Con-corde,
Scott
